A Moroccan boxer has been arrested and jailed in Rio de Janeiro after an allegation of attempted rape was made against him, just one day before he was due to fight at the Olympic Games.

Hassan Saada, 22, was arrested by police on Friday morning after allegations of sexual assault were made against him by two Brazilian women who work in the Olympic Village in Barra da Tijuca as waitresses. The attacks were alleged to have taken place on Wednesday, according to information given by the two women in their statements.

Do you have some statistics to back this statement up, or are you happy to regurgitate racist perceptions of foreigners or people of specific ethnicities or faiths?

I was doing some reading about the claims being made about rape in Sweden going up 400% since 2010, all very persuasive, until you look into the figures, and consider that Sweden has the loosest definition of rape in the world. Even brushing against someone is considered rape under their legal definition, so obviously, that being the case, rape cases as opposed to sexual assault, are going to skyrocket.

It's all too easy to repeat these supposed truisms, based on anecdotal reports, and people with agendas who enjoy spreading them, like Britain first.

Pay him no mind asdfjkl , you have to remember in the UK they have been almost brainwashed over the last 10-15 years by a left wing press hell bent on destroying their own culture, they even had to make a position of culture secretary in 1992.
Most of the Brit lot [not all] are like this on the site, it reminds of me of something diddy said when he mentioned many of the American members have left or post elsewhere which is close to where I'm going.
To be honest there all a little mad and spent to much time listening to some grey haired professor at university who learned everything in life from a book without almost no real feet on the ground been there done that life experience or lived in any of the communities they talk about.
You should have read some of their comments leading up to the BREXIT vote, oh how well written and educated they are except for one problem ... they all got it wrong one after the other in unison.
Then come the excuses ... I've heard it all before.
Bottom line is they talk a good game the Brit lot I should know I'm one of them, they love letting everybody know of their accomplishments and what new word they picked out of the dictionary that day too, sad eh
Shame really, I have little time for that crowd as they have become increasingly boring over the last couple of years.

Too true, only it has been going on for the past forty or fifty years.

This Rio Olympics is just turning into a sh*storm imho. I wasn't going to watch the boxing after the f*$#ery of 2012 anyway but I am seeing nothing but negative press on this year's games.

I'm not paying any attention to it. It was the worst Olympics in history even before it started, and even Brazilians are telling people to stay away. Even before it started numerous olympic athletes, including some handicapped athletes, were mugged, and an olympic overpass collapsed into the ocean killing people, and the water that they are supposed to swim and hold boat competitions in is incredibly polluted including dead bodies floating down. They warned the swimmers to keep their mouths closed and all athletes to stay in their hotels

What on earth are you on about 'left wing press' you moron. The majority of the press in this country is right wing, the most prominent of which are owned by right wing reptile Rupert Murdock, yes the same Rupert Murdoch that owns right wing mouthpiece Fox news, so if the british populace are brainwashed by anything, it's the mainstream right wing press.

The reason the brexit campaign succeeded (by the narrowest of margins mind you) is they told an absolute pack of lies to the electorate, promising money for the NHS, and claiming that they would stamp out immigration whilst still maintaining their trade links with Europe, which is utter balderdash. The government had no intention of diverting money to the NHS, and they simply cannot be part of the trade pact with Europe without free movement of people, so they told an out and out bunch of lies, which many people foolishly believed. If the referendum was held again tomorrow, remain would win, and by a large margin, now that the lies have been exposed.

Who is this gray haired professor? What do you know about my life experience mate, feck all, that's what, I've met people from all walks of life in my 45 years, and if you think all my knowledge comes from books, then you're talking out of your arsehole.

If a liberal country like Sweden wanted to disprove these prejudices, they could release data on the number of rapes committed by immigrants. Maybe break it down community by community. They don't. The truth is that certain cultures don't view the rights of women in the same way as others. Ask any western woman who's travelled to the middle east.

C'mon Evander. I'm somewhere in the middle of this debate. But debate is important. Don't leave the debate because a bunch of people disagree with you.

I don't believe in any conspiracy to change British culture, I just believe in the conspiracy that is capitalism. Mass immigration has happened due to the demands of big business and our free market economy. Capitalism insists that economies must forever grow. No matter what. People must consume, consume, consume. There is no plan. There is no direction. There is no wisdom. There is no foresight. Just business being done.

This precisely what I believe too - the idea of conspiracy theories is comforting because it suggests that there is some secret cabal of people who rule the world and have a grand plan, instead of the fact that it's just loads of little tribes, shitting all over one another in a desperate grab for land, resources, wealth and supposed security, just as it has always been. Capitalism is the latest form of this.

Exactly. A woman there can only appear in public with a husband or family members. If she is alone, she is considered a whore and can be treated as such. The problem is that those people migrate and refuse to assimilate.

For the guy that mentioned Sweden's "loose" definition of sexual assault....I don't know why that would matter.

Unless they changed their definitions right when they had an immigration surge, it's still apples to apples....and something started happening far more frequently than it happened before.

The definition changed in 2012, which is when the spike started.

The vast majority of rapes in Sweden occur in the areas of the country which are immigrant ghettos. They are vastly mainly perpetrated on immigrants, by immigrants, that doesn't make it ok, but needs to be taken in context.

I despise Islam, as I despise all religiosity, it's a backward looking way of thinking, and to assume morals are derived from religion is entirely erroneous.

Do countries with an Islamic religious state have terrible attitudes to women, I would agree, it's awful. However, let's not forget, that it's not so long ago that in England women couldn't vote, and were treated like servants or chattels. For the majority of human history, men have oppressed women, out of fear and confusion, and the fact that they are physically stronger.

I'd love to live in a world with no religion, but I will not ascribe to the fact that any one is inherently evil, it's just not true. There are 1.2 billion muslims in the world, if there was some Islamic wide plan to take over the world and put us all under the yoke, it would have already happened.

The reality is, that people of all faiths, and those with no faith, share more values than they have different, people want to live in peace. Wars are not about ideology, the crusades for instance, were basically a mass delusion campaign to get people to go and invade the levant so that rich feudal lords could get lands and resources for themselves. What we see now, is no different. Isis is a bunch of warlords sending off the young, the mentally ill and the deluded into a war, often sacrificing their own lives. They are a product of western foreign policy over the last 20 years, depending on how cynical your are, it's either because of bumbling efforts by the hawks in America, France and the UK, to exert ownership over the region, or a protracted long term goal of depopulating many of the countries in the middle and near east. Why are Saudi Arabia still the friends of the west? The house of Saud is run by a bunch of amoral kings, who allied themselves to Wahabbism, in order to maintain control over the minds of the population, whilst living lives of luxury, decadence and degeneracy, aided and abetted by the west.
