Balderas looked good for USA. Ndam loss while Tommasone won vs a tall opponent. Yusunov won with one hand only. Buatsi scored the first stoppage... lots of stuff going on!

Ruenroeng won but it was ugly

Cisdokho looked spectacular... Roy jonesque

Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam being eliminated first fight has to rank in the highlights. Few saw that coming.

none of the pro fighters looked great. Ruenroeng looked sloppy holding a lot, making the fight ugly... Tommasone is small and wasn't THAT Busy.

Nogueira's awkward & aggressive style made it difficult for Tishchenko
Nogueira was able to hurt Tishchenko a few times but particularly at the end of the 2nd
Tishchenko again hurt and exhausted at the end of the 3rd round... looked on shaky legs

Well the one thing AIBA has done right was get rid of the awful computer scoring that had turned amateur boxing into a bore fest. Now we are actually seeing boxers throwing punches instead of punch and hold, punch and wrestle and pinch and run. It looks better without the headguards also. The boxers are slowly learning how to move their heads to avoid cuts though we are still seeing cuts. i wish the cutman would not take so much time slowing the pace of the fight. I think it also good that the corner or crowd does not know the score like before and that keeps the winner from running in the last round.
Overall it is much more exciting boxing.

Big upset today with London gold medal winner Katie Taylor of Ireland losing to Finnish boxer Mira Potkonen. The Fin has a victory over the US boxer competing in Rio, Mikaela Myer. They boxed in '14 in Finland.
