30 days out from their September 10 showdown in London, WBC/WBA/IBF middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin and IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook both took part in their WBC-mandated 30-Day weigh-ins.
Brook scaled in at 176 pounds, while GGG weighed 165 pounds. They both have to get down to 160 pounds or less by the official weigh-in on September 9.

Wow, can't see Brook going back to 147 after this. That's a lot of weight to lose

Ill-disciplined bum!
Is Brook going to achieve anything worthwhile after Golovkin batters him?
Is this the end of him?

Unless Kell weighed in his underwear only I wouldn't be surprised if there were some mind games going on here and he had a pocket full of change ;) he didn't look that big when he had his top off at the press conference photo shoot did he ??
Edit : looks like he may have weighed in just in his underwear looking at the pic he posted on Instagram - although u don't see the scales

He honestly has to drain for 147 massively, I've seen him fight week plenty of times and I've seen people dead look more alive. Think after this he will be at 154 for sure.

It would be ironic if he failed to make weight.

I wonder what he weighed at the start of his training camp?

It's not that far fetched, when you let yourself balloon in weight because you have plenty of weight to play with, you can take your eye off the ball and your metabolism slows down, making it harder to lose weight. Many fighters have failed to make weight, moved up in weight and failed again.

At this rate he'll need someone to hack one of his legs off with a machete to make the weight

Same old sad, bitter haters as usual.
Kell bang on the 12st 8, 10% limit:

Having said that, actually more metabolism slows down as you lose weight, not gain it, it's a defence mechanism your body has to prevent starvation, that's why fat people find it hard to lose weight after a certain point, their metabolism slows down to compensate for loss of fat reserves.
However, Kell doesn't have a lot of fat reserves, so not sure how that would affect that equation.

He hardly looks in poor shape.

Just has to lose 8 ounces a day,and I wouldn't be surprised if he manipulated the weigh in by having a three course meal and a couple of pints of water beforehand.
It' s an effort to demonstrate to golovkin he's not the naturally bigger man.
It'll not make a bit of difference. Kell will be in shock when Golovkin lands, and my money will be on a second round knockout.

He is looking a bit porky around the chops (chubby cheeks) every time I see him. But he's apparently fit and training hard. It's good that he's comfortably in the middleweight zone, and expect him to make the weight comfortably.
A lot is going to depend on how he manages trading with a middleweight though. Can he maintain his speed?

It'd be good if, going into the biggest and most dangerous fight of his career, Brook didn't have to focus as much on losing weight.
I was a big fan of him but im sceptical he'll carry the 160 gracefully. I think he took this because the deal - biggest purse & home advantage - and the more "comfortable" I.e. eat more preparation.
Really hoping they're doing the weight properly. Don't want him to be a highlight reel KO victim.

Doubt he can shift 16 lbs from his face. He'd be a bit gaunt.

No worries, he looks fit enough, never failed to make 147 as far as I recall, so I'm sure he'll make 160 with 4 weeks of hard graft to go.
He'll still getting banged out in short order though.
