If Kell Brook defeats Gennady Golovkin...

Where does he rank P4P? Where does he rank as an ATG? Where does he rank among the greatest British Boxers of all Time?
jujigatame wrote:Brook has a better chance than people are giving him. Golovkin has looked like a monster every time out but he's 34 years old and his level of opposition has been very weak. Brook has speed and skill and even though he's stepping up 2 weight classes, the weight advantage for Golovkin will be very minimal if there is one at all.
Golovkin is still a rightful favorite but Brook is getting overlooked. He's the best opponent of Golovkin's career, by a wide margin.
What chance (e.g. 40 percent?) are you giving him?jujigatame wrote:Brook has a better chance than people are giving him. I'd give Brook a 20% chance or so. It's possible he's a better boxer than I think he is.crusader wrote:What chance (e.g. 40 percent?) are you giving him?jujigatame wrote:Brook has a better chance than people are giving him. No such thing as a fighter with a 0% chance. No matter how big of an underdog you are there's always some freakish thing that could happen and make it all go your way. A perfect shot right on the chin, a perfect debilitating body shot, your opponent breaks his ankle, your opponent blows his knee out, your opponent drops dead from sudden cardiac arrest...while these scenarios are highly unlikely, they're not impossible. Therefore there's more than a 0% chanceRicky_ wrote:jujigatame wrote:Brook has a better chance than people are giving him. If there were a 0% chance Brook could win, you could bet 7 million on Golovkin and win a million. Then you could pay your mafia backers their 7 million dollars -- plus their 175,000 2.5% profit the next day and walk away with 825,000 dollars. On the other hand if Brook won you'd have to come up with 7,175,000 dollars so you might want to rethink that.gilgamesh wrote:No such thing as a fighter with a 0% chance. Yes true, Golovkin could break an ankle.gilgamesh wrote:No such thing as a fighter with a 0% chance. That's ridiculous - Brook isn't that much smaller than GGG and is definitely more skilled than any of his opponents to date.x2x wrote:I just looked at the booky odds on the fight. I can't believe that they only have the odds at 6-1. I thought it would be more like 50 or 100 to 1.
