Is it just me or does Hearn say the same thing every year? "I think we're gonna make the fight for early part of next year"


Boxing has got to be the worst sport when it comes to ageing you as you seem to be constantly waiting for a significant fight by the time one comes by, a decade or so has gone past (slight exaggeration but you get my point)

AJ still going for the low hanging fruit.

What an utter fraud. There's a good 20 fighters ahead of Hughie at the moment. I actually think he will become a solid top 10 fighter, maybe even a world champ but not for another 3 years.

Joke of a defence for AJ but that's what I've come to expect from the fraud. The quicker he gets sparked out the better.

To be fair, it would be pretty stupid for Hearn to make Joshua vs Fury when Fury is facing a drugs hearing later this year.

I agree,boxing is sometimes a very short career and i don't understand why fighters wait years,being unbeaten has a lot to do with it i suppose.

The Furys called him out and they responded, he will knock Hughie our next month or 3 6 9 or 12 months if Hughie isnt banned.by then.

That's a fair point. Saying that though- Hearn had already offered them the fight twice already this year. With Hearn's connections and influence in the sport of would imagine he would have heard whispers about this UKAD situation before it was public knowledge.

Must admit I have no real idea what's happening as the situation is still ridiculously confusing, but this is what the linked article says:

"Staging the contest in 2017 would clear up any potential concerns for Hearn - because Hughie - and his cousin, WBO/IBO/WBA champion Tyson Fury - are being investigated by British anti-doping agency UKAD. The two heavyweights are scheduled to appear at a hearing in November to fight UKAD's allegations that both of them tested positive for a banned substance last June. If found guilty, Hughie could be suspended."

Is Anthony Joshua vs Hughie Fury a big fight?

When it was announced the other day that this fight was possibly not happening, my first reaction was surprise as I had no idea it was even supposed to be happening in the first place. Then I just felt nonchalance because quite honestly, I didn't care whether it happened or not anyway.

Hughie's only fight over anybody that could even be considered a name was against Guinn. I mean, let's face it. Joshua defending a World title against Hughie Fury is hardly one of those big fights worth waiting an age for, is it?

I think Hearn is looking at the BIG picture and the BIG cousin Tyson..........Smash little cuz Hughie and BIG cuz will want revenge family pride what
a seller that fight will be Tyson v Joshua its a plan well thought out

You say that, but as long as Tyson still has belts to defend, I see no reason for Joshua to bash up Hughie. A unification fight between Fury and Joshua is going to be huge in this country. Joshua laying the smack down on Hughie isn't necessary to make that fight huge.

I suppose if Tyson finally gets round to fighting Klitschko, and loses, it might slightly make sense. But a Joshua vs Tyson World Title fight still doesn't really need the involvement of Hughie Fury and his acne to make it marketable.
