Making waves - opening bout saw him score the only stoppage I think, and he's just repeated it with an upset stunning ko of the tournament 3rd seed. Looks a massive prospect.

Yeah liked the way he put his shots together in the first fight, against a very experienced guy too, lovely work to the body and nice quick hands, looks a great prospect.

He looked pretty decent, might well have the power to make a mark in the professional ranks; not sure he'll pick up a medal in Rio though...

shipped a few himself in the first bought and looked quite open , but on the flip side had a good offence with a great variety of shots , not seen tonights bought yet .

Well he's already exceeded expectations, you never know, and if he doesn't, doesn't mean he can't make a good pro. He certainly has a nice selection of shots.

I didn't make myself clear, I think he'll be one of these boxers that ends up being a far better pro than an amateur. A reverse Price, if you will...

I think Eddie will be signing him up after the olympics with plent of sky hype to boot

Obviously a bit early to judge based on two bouts, but I always think there's something about those who go to a massive tournament not expected to do a great deal and overachieve, sign of mental fortitude.

Benchabla is Number 4 in the world officially, he boxes from range, he is awkward, he does have a skill set and can pick you off if he gets in a rhythm but he is prone to taking flush shots despite his awkward style and I can see him shipping a few too many here and although it's tempting fate I think Buatsi beats him and it would not surprise me if he stops him.

I did think Josh might've been stunned at little in the first round yesterday, when he shipped a few flush, but if he was, he recovered fast.

I think you are right, I thought exactly the same.

I like the look of him, puts his shots together and quite heavy handed. Think he could do alright in the pros.

didnt he put Julio La Cruz on his asre aswell in the World Championships?That stoppage yesterday was impressive but it was clear from the start that his opponent wasnt gonna like taking the big shots,he was trying to smother Buatsi's work with pitter patter stuff his head movement was showing someone who was very aware of taking big shots.Taking nothng away from Buatsi he finished him off well even though i think it should have been stopped before getting to that point.

As far as I remember, Benchabla gave Oleksandr Gvozdyk 3 vey tough fights (one of them was in WSB), so if Buatsi beats him clearly, I will be impressed. So far Josh looks very promising

Anyone been following his progress in the Olympics at Light Heavy? The lad has all the right tools to succeed as a pro; he's got fast hands, his footwork is good going forward, he's accurate, and he appears to hit like a truck. A lad with a big future?

Fast hands, good feet going forward (cuts the ring off against movers), good accuracy, and evidently hits HARD. I'm excited!

Turning the shots over well, good body weight in his punches. Appears promising, one whose contract you'd want if you were a promoter.

Thanks. Just watched it. He looks even heavier hitting than i though. That opponent way way more experienced and a successful amateur. Buatsi punches with precision and sharpness. No wild swings no loading up. That 1-2 at the end was a peach!
