Wat people's opinions on a fighter being stopped in his last fight a 4 rounder then getting approved for a area title fight...

Did it come down to a purse bid? Or is the Area Champion looking at this as a soft option?

Title was vacated for this fight to happen.

You should have to earn your right to fight for a title at any level

Anyone can get stopped at any time, even in a 4 rounder. You’ve not given a great deal of information to be fair. For example, the record of the lad who lost and his opponent who beat him, form, activity log etc

His record 6-2 was stopped in feb. the kid who stopped him 3-2 without a stoppage win wen they met. The first opponent with a positive record also.

You shouldnt be rewarded after losing. Title fights should always contain guys coming off wins.
Only exception is a rematch of a close fight...

While its not the best I think generally the level of area title fights has improved over the last few years (in the midlands at least).

I remember when I was first going to small hall shows around 07/08/09 there was times you'd see prospects fighting journeymen for area titles.

If they fighters are within the best 2/3 options of fighters within that area shouldn't mater.

So you wouldn't allow someone coming off a British title loss fight for an Area title?

No always as simple to say.

There are only two area titles listed on the bbboc’s websites for area title fights and one for a british tf, none of which match up with the numbers set forth here.

May not have been updated the fight was only approved a few days ago. The fight is on here 24th September

Depends on too many things to clearly say yes or no. From the fighters to the nature of the loss to the level of the title etc etc etc.

Area title is scheduled fight. His record stands 6-2 was stopped last fight by kid 3-2 no ko's in last round of a 4 rounder. His opponent was first positive record his faced does he deserve an area title shot.

He was outweighed by 3 lbs. Which has happened don't a few times on his record. Dont know the circumstances to the stoppage just it was stopped with 7 seconds left.
