David Allen wants David Price on October 15

Domestic level heavyweight David Allen (9-1-1, 6 KOs) is hoping to lure former British/Commonwealth heavyweight champion David Price (20-3, 17 KOs) to fight him on October 15 on the undercard of the Tony Bellew vs. BJ Flores card at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, UK. Price, 33, is already scheduled to fight on the Bellew-Flores card on that date, but he still doesn’t have an opponent scheduled.
The 24-year-old hard hitting Allen would like nothing better than to be the guy that faces the 6’8” Price on the October 15 card, because he believes he can knock him out him and ruin his dreams of fighting IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
Allen is fighting next month on September 3 against Noureddine Meddoun (4-3, 4 KOs) in a six round confidence booster type fight. As long as Allen wins that fight and doesn't get injured, he could be back against Price on October 15 if he’s willing to take the fight with him.

I predict that Price's opponent will be an Eastern European journeyman who currently does a bit of door on Wetherspoons in Liverpool (handy as it wont be far for him to walk to the Echo arena)

The guy at the Dome is an ideal opponent for Allen at this stage of his career,Price isn't. Dave should build up to this level. Plus,if he got the Price fight,the September fight would be cancelled. Not fair to Noureddine.

I know that mate. Im the one saying it would be cancelled. If Allen got that fight they'd immediately pull out of the Doncaster fight because of the nearness of the 2 bills in case of injury.

I doubt they would, he fights near enough every few months anyway. but to be honest, i will agree with you, Price would be his biggest test, I say he would need to give himself a little gap before he fights him, and also as he said, he wants to prove a point.

Allen needs experience there is no substitute for it. if he fought Price and won he would bee propelled into a level he is not yet equipped to cope with.

He won't propel to anything, he will have Whyte or some other domestic fighters calling him out

Sure if Allen is keen, then Price should take it. Allen has shown he is durable and a domestic clash is obviously more interesting than an anonymous European as others have mentioned.

Allen would not be forced to fight at a high level if he beat Price.

That's my point he wasn't ready for Whyte.
He wasn't good enough for Whyte more like. That's not me bigging Whyte up either. Allen is a small heavyweight who doesn't seem to hit particularly hard, is crude and lacks boxing ability. The only things he seems to have going for him is an ability to absorb a beating and an alleged high work rate. Although against Whyte he seemed to barely throw punches. Whyte looked like he was coasting and on auto-pilot.
