Smith was taller (Boxrec didn't have any height measurement but if Galogun is 6'1" then Smith was 6'2" or 6'3")... Smith also had the better mobility. But it was all neutralized by the long jab from Balogun who can double it while stalking aggressively and follow it with a Heavy awkward left hand. Balogun's long arms are really usefull to apply that superior pop.
Both fighters fought southpaw (Smith is ambidextrous) and Balogun overpowered Smith in the 1st round... bullying him and forcing him to move a lot and being evasive. Balogun's better jab was the tool to neutralize the offensive qualities of Smith's mobility.
In round 2 Balogun's lengthy jab and supperior lead hand become even more apparent. he caught Smith with a long hook while he was moving laterally and then let his hands go for the finish. He dropped him with a beauty of an uppercut. Smith never recuperated and although the ref gave him all the time he needeed to get up and continue, Balogun needed only a few more seconds to grind him on the ropes for the TKO.
Balogun reminds me of a cruder Ray Mercer
