I saw on the schedule the other day that Scott Cardle is down to defend his British title in October in Glasgow. I'm assuming that'll be part of the Burns card then. I'm sure it was 8th at the Hydro.

Don't know anything about this other guy at all. Anyone know anything about him? I'll go for Burns points for the sake of the poll though :TU:

Never heard of the opponent so had to look him up. 21-0 with 19 kos, but only gone past 5 rounds once and seems to have faced rather limited opposition.

Nickname is the 'Mad Bee' apparently.

Easy stoppage for Burns this. The gulf in class of opponent is ridiculous. Probably get good odds on a mid fight stoppage!

He looks like another Barrosso.

Relikh is ranked at 230 in the weight on this site.

What an embarrassing fight and it is a mandatory. I've admired Burns for years but the way he got his belt was embarrassing.

I'm sure Burns will be well prepared here and not taking anything lightly. The guy may not have been in with anyone but he can punch and is unbeaten a bit like Zlaticanan who came over and upset the odds. I went to the weigh in for that fight and as soon as I saw Zlaticanan I thought it would be an easy night for Ricky with the difference in size, experience etc... Didn't turn out that way...

True, although Zlaticanin had at least already beaten top 20 Petr Petrov, and just going by film looks to be in another class to the Belarussian. Maybe Relikh will prove to be a tough opponent who simply hasn't had the chance to show that he can be competitive at a high level, but I'm thinking it's more likely that he'll end up being someone who built a heavily padded record, only to be exposed as soon as he fought a good opponent.

Eddie Hearn gave October 8th as the date on his winning purse bid for the Cardle defence. It's not the best date to go with in Glasgow though as Scotland have their first home qualifier at Hampden that day and it's a 19:45 kick off.

Didn't realise that. That's a bit of a balls up from Hearn.

Cardle tweeted recently that he hasn't had a date confirmed, so Hearn might have realised and be looking to change it. Originally Ricky's last bout was planned for a week earlier, which was the day of the Scottish Cup Final. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the reason it got put back.

I'd read somewhere (maybe BS or sky sports ) he is doing it Friday the 7th because of the football.

Joe Ham has just posted on Facebook that it's October 7th and he's on the undercard.

Ricky's fighting the 'mad bee' from Minsk with an outstanding record of 16 wins in a variety of Gymnasiums in Belarus and one in Monaco!!
He seems to have a 'punch' though when he's fighting Belarussian 'roadsweepers' .
There is an 'upside' to this - Matchroom might not make the bill PPV - but then again -they might !!!

This guy is apparently a 'mandatory' contender. There's at least 10 British boxers at the weight, who can't even get a British title eliminator, and would comfortably destroy the 'mad bee'.

Anyone on here going to be selling tickets? I loathe to give ticketmaster/stubhub their extortionate booking fees!

I assume the undercard will be predominantly local fighters - would rather buy from them.

Be interesting to know what the odds are on Rellikh. If they're pretty long I might have a punt.

Look at Zlaticanan before he came over. I take your point about the rankings but Burns can ill afford to overlook this guy.

The boy from Belerus is a very tough and hard hitting fighter don't be fooled by the lack of names on his record, I'd say he can be outboxed and there is Ricky's best chance, if Ricky goes toe to toe like he sometimes gets dragged into he will be in trouble against a natural light welter

I don't know how anyone had the time to watch IFL interviews. Surely he could do them in 5mojs Mac and just ask them about a few pertinent issues? Half the time they're an hour or so long of folk talking utter dross.
