Stopped in Victoria one night and Queensland the next. Probably couldn't find a fight for the next night.

Where does responsibility lie for a boxer like the one in question?

In my opinion it lies with the boxer first and then his trainer. I wonder if the promoter knew the boxer was competing the day before his show as I am sure he would be disappointed to know boxer was "double booked".

It also reflects very poorly on Queensland and reinforces the calls for a government authority to be adopted similar to all other states.

cant blame the boxer for wanting to make money, the responsability lies with whichever authority runs boxing in oz, if that happened in uk the BBBC would be dragged over the coals for negligence

ANBF Qld & Boxrec were unaware he fought in Melbourne 'til Tuesday, when I received & posted results in Boxrec.
His trainer gave ANBF Qld acceptable reason as to why he couldn't attend official weigh-in......fighting in Melbourne certainly wasn't it.

Where there is a will, there is a way. No government legislation & all its rules & regulations can prevent such occasion.
He is Vic Control registered boxer, so it up to them to deal with it. However, if he wasn't suspended due to loss (on towel) he hasn't broken any rule. Unlike NSW registered combatants, Vic registered ain't subject to mandatory rest period.

It'd be interesting to hear from anybody who saw the first of his two fights, did he look like he tried?

It will be interesting to see whether anyone in authority satisfactorily investigates this one.
