Yeah anything like that it's historical. Ali; Joe Louis...these guys were one of a kind. All the boxers who had heart from Ernie Terrell to Jimmy Ellis to Jerry Quarry to Joe Bugner AND Ron Stander who had HEART I respect to the roof!

Heavyweight Division leader! Always has always will. The only lapse you notice is past 37 years while the Sport wayne's in the central eye of the media generally speaking. What a cost! The cross-over is being forever lost.

I'm not obsessed with any fighter, but my favourite historical fighter is Thomas Hearns and my favourite current fighter is GGG.

I see you are from Western Australia and you been here since June 2004..Golovkin is good for the Sport very interesting personality another Pacquiao in that department maybe more magnified. I don't agree with his holding or being allowed to hold IBO however.
Will Brook derail him now? You see the beating-up Kassim "The Dream" put over against GGG? Before it was stopped questionably.

Sh&ts a classic! "Clay One Time In My Career I Did Bum Of Da Month Tour." Clay: "So I Woulda Been a Bum?" Louis: "Well You'd Been On The Tour."
I believe this and quote me on this the greatest goes in order Louis, Sugar Ray, THEN Ali. Those 3 in this same order. Louis was SAVAGE for many
years remember he had a very long reign as champion. He had guys falling all over the place. Brutal!

I haven't heard anyone bring up a problem with GGG's holding the IBO title - what's the issue there?
Will Brook derail him now? Probably not, but it's a better matchup that some are suggesting, as Brook isn't much smaller than GGG and is definitely the best all-round boxer he has faced to date.
I have watched the Ouma fight - it's by far the toughest of GGG's career to date and doesn't look good for him. That said, GGG was reportedly very jetlagged and under-rested for that fight, which must have at least partially affected his performance. In addition to that, Ouma's good chin, faster hands and inside fighting skills gave Golovkin big problems. From watching footage I've concluded that GGG needs to extend his arms to get full power and works best at mid-to-long range, so the best chance anyone has of beating him is to stay on the inside, push him back, work his body and smother his punches. Andre Ward certainly has the ability to do this, although I would he hoping like mad that GGG would land the knockout blow, as he's the far more entertaining fighter.
For the record, I think the stoppage in the Ouma fight was a fair one - he was taking too much punishment and could have been seriously hurt had the fight been allowed to continue.

Ouma spent a weekend in the hospital and was getting pummelled in the last few rounds against GGG; in no way was that a questionable stoppage

Growing up I loved Naz. It was because of him I started boxing and then became obsessed with the sport. I was pretty nervy as a kid so this little guy going in and fighting grown men with all that confidence and arrogance was something that I really admired. Now that I'm older and look back he was a bit of a tit but his talent is unquestionable.
Nowadays I'm a massive fan of Carl Frampton and have been lucky enough to meet him a few times. I've followed his career from the start and it's pretty special watching him do what he's doing g now having followed him from the start. Same with Kell Brook. I've always been a big fan but I fear he's bitten off more than he can chew in GGG.

"Obsessed" may be a little strong. Nah, it isn't, who the hell am I fooling?
I'm HW obsessed, old school 1970s. Yes that was my day if I had one.

George Foreman
Leon Spinks

Mike Tyson was one fighter I truly liked more so than any other. My favorite current fighter is GGG. But I'm not obsessed by any means with any fighter. Obsessed is a strong word. I'm a Fan..

jezzamundo..Read you thank you. About the IBO. How long you been boxing fan for? I guess what I am saying is inherent & old school.
You realize that 33 years ago we have only the WBC & WBA? Carlos Palomimo and Pipino Cuevas vied for the 147. The IBF is the first born after these two. Larry Holmes popularized the IBF from the beginning. Next came the WBO. You know much history there? Lot of resistence to the new organization. I'd say..later 1997 they come up. Until they gained recognition they came up divided. That is..the Heavyweight div. lagged behind the other weight divisions. The IBO is the fifth group. What of the WBF WBU WBB IBC & ETC???
No man. This is exactly what has disrupted/hurt the Sport in the eyes of the general media on a world wide level. You ever notice the quiet your newspapers give to the Sport? Well notice now. Thank the IBO and organizations like theirs.
This isn't the only thing wrong with boxing in modern. The pronounciation of "three champs" by WBA is bad too. I can see thru it. I know true champion is the supreme one but, such mess highly with the cross over appeal!
I'd say, all die hards know what I am talking about here!
Sorry you feel so mundane about it all. The Sport deserves better.
Even we can go back few years to Ring magazines "wars!"
Do you know the name Nigel Collins? Well, he orchestrated the "Alpha wars". But his theory was incorrect. That man tossed ALL organizations into trash and pronounced RING mag king of the Hill! But that was poor strategy. We needed to "draw a line", not Trash all goverance!
If you wanted to, you have FB. Maybe you could try to contact Nigel Collins? Simply to inquiry of him. I have no indication his mind hasn't stayed where it was before!

My favorite fighter of all time is Marvelous Marvin Hagler. Hagler personified grit, toughness, durability, and intimidation. Hagler didn't trash talk, he let his actions speak which was extremely loud! Hagler's journey was not easy. Hagler lost by some controversial decisions before the debatable lost to Leonard. Hagler persisted after those losses until that Leonard fight. Hagler fought Mugabi when he was undefeated, Duran, Hearns, Hamsho,Vito Antfuermo(sorry for the misspelling) and many very good to great fighters. Did not duck anyone!

Yeah, Hagler a good one. I think their wasn't doubt who won vs Ray Leonard. [just wasn't his day!]
Vito Antuofermo w/o looking! : ) Yeah..Vito brought color to his era and made it to the very very top! Turned back Marvin when he was sick (bronchitis).
My friend Marcus Starks fought Vito one time.

Not obsessed.
Hopkins. His "greatness" is much more than boxing.
And his boxing is severely underrated by idiots who don't even see many of his landed punches.
... an idiot I once was.

Quite a few former boxers I admire, but can't say I'm obsessed with any. I was amazed at watching fights of Clay/Ali in the 60's, how successful he was being only a head hunter...very rarely threw a body punch.
I think Gene Tunney is one of the most under-rated guys. Super smart and skilled boxer with an incredible record of something like 65-1? His one loss was to Harry Greb, and he avenged it about 4 times. He ended his career at heavy weight, beating Jack Dempsey twice, but was really a light heavy. He dared to be great by moving up, but doesn't quite get the credit he deserves. Granted, it was at the end of Dempsey's career, and he wasn't a big heavy.

Matthew Saad Muhammad - I never tire of watching his championship fights.
Jack Johnson - I love everything about Johnson; how he lauded it in time when he was supposed to be humble & subservient.
Salvador Sanchez - A beast in the making; cut down in his prime. Would have been a certain ATG, I'm sure of it.
