Martin J Ward vs Andy Townend

I think this could gel into good British title fight next week,Townend's been impressing me a lot recently and deserves this shot, especially as what we've seen Dodd go on to achieve after Andy stopped him
Ward deserves this shot too,its the right time,he's been doing well fighting on big shows.i'll be honest he's not my favorite fighter in the world to watch but he's good,he looked good in both Hughes fights especially the rematch,he was unlucky only to get a draw in the 1st fight too after twice being put down even though both were slips on water from the corner
I think they'll be plenty of action in this one with both men throwing a lot of punches,i kinda favour Townend but Ward will probably get the decision, might be another Cardle/Dodd situation or maybe Ward will prove that he is a class above

Townsend is 11/4 with Bet365 - which seems very tempting considering his punch power.

Time you thinking this will be on going into town for Manchester derby heading back home for the boxing around 6 so hoping it's not on before then but with the Edwards and Haskins vs hall I'm thinking it could be around 6ish

Good fight fancy ward on points if he boxes smart and doesn't stand and trade. Townend carries power but can be out boxed.

I think Ward takes it but I'll be rooting for Townend. Agree with HoS, I much prefer watching Townend.

Doesn't matter whoever wins it will be just handing the belt straight to Cacacae.. Both aren't the best. Same as everyone rooting for Townend but can see a boring Ward win

50/50 fight. Boxer against puncher.
I'm actually favouring Townend. Ward got the luckiest draw I've seen against Hughes awful judging( and refereeing as the knock downs shouldn't of counted).
If anything Townend seems to be getting stronger and punching harder. There's a obvious question mark over Wards chin that he needs to answer.

Andy defo matured into his power now the kid can whack I will be backing him for the stoppage as the odds will be good and I think he as enough power to trouble any of the lads on the domestic scene

Backed Townend,I think he will stophim hes just in too good form to not back him.Ive not really seen Wards chin tested so no idea what its like but the odds are too tempting.

Odds up for the stoppage yet only seen odds for the win

Ward should have far too much skill and boxing IQ, but Townend is dangerous because he is such a puncher.
I can see why Mitchell Smith vacated the English and refused to box him. Townend is deffo in the ''who needs them club.''
I would love to see him win, but I just think Ward will be too smart to get involved.

Not sure if there's some that's not seen this not got the poxton and Glover Kos on which was both big stoppages as well the Glover body shot was a killer

I see Martin J Ward winning on points. None of the guys he's whacked have been anywhere near wards level and the one fighter who he did fight rendall munroe beat him quite comfortably moving up massive weight. I could be wrong of course. I think that Townend may get stopped here. Proberly accumulation of punches and will fade later in the fight.

The Munroe fight was early in Andy's career massive learning curve for him that fight and Munroe had just lost to quiqq for interim wba title Andy had 8 pro fights really looking forward to this fight ward is a very tidy boxer I didn't think much of him in the first hughes fight thought hughes nicked it but credit it to ward he bashed him up in the rematch and looked a completely different fighter I think it's an hard nights work for both fighters ward could stick to his boxing and beat townend on points but equally if townend gets some success to the body I think he could slow wars down which eventually could lead to the big over hand right and thats the shot that does cause problems I agree with bookies having ward favourite but I always like to back the fighters that can bang when the odds are that high as there's always that chance of the big shot

Cacace stopped jamie Quinn on Saturday. Quinn retired at end of first round with a broken jaw. Cacace just unloaded on him. I do believe he beats both of them though.

Is he still with the Mguigan's? I am looking forward to seeing him step up, he is a massive super-featherweight.

No his been released from his contract. I'm sure he has a final eliminator with jupp penned in for December time

George Jupp pulled out the purse bids and Cacace is about to be made mandatory for the title within 90 days after Saturday as far as I know. IMO Cacace can't do the weight and especially now will struggle without Shane. That's just me though and he's proved me wrong before. If he can't he should just do lightweight. He stops cardle easily and may well be in with a chance of a vacant title
