Who do people want to see Carl face next and who do they think he will face next?

It looks like it may have to be the LSC rematch next as I believe the contract held a rematch clause and I would have no problem seeing the fight of the year candidate once again but personally do not want to see it next.

For me, I would rather Carl have a fight here in Belfast before Christmas a routine defence or a mandatory challenger as he is stated that he wants to fight again before Christmas. This would allow him to return to America maybe fight on St.Patrick's Day or around that date targeting the huge Irish base in the US, maybe the LSC rematch who knows??

Before returning to Belfast in the summer fighting outdoors maybe Windsor Park, something he has stated that he has always wanted to do!

Lee Selby

I'd like to see him against Selby somewhere in the UK or Belfast. I'm not sure if there's anywhere in Belfast big enough and indoors to support that fight in the winter months. There's the issue of the LSC rematch clause as well. I'm not sure if contractually he'll be allowed to take a fight whilst waiting? The Venue for that rematch is likely to hold up negotiations as well. LSC won't want to fight in NY again nor will he fancy travelling over here. I can't see Carl agreeing to fighting in Cali so Vegas is probably the most likely venue. I was hoping he'd be out again before the end of the year but I doubt he will.

I'd like to see the Lee Selby fight, then the Santa Cruz rematch sometime next year.

I think LSC will kick up a,stink about location given they weren't overly pleased with NYC, so he will be wanting out in California.

So I think logically headlining the MGM or the Mandalay bay in Vegas would make sense.

If Carl fights and beats Lee Selby before the year is out, he would have unified the super bantam weight division, stepped up and won a belt at featherweight & unified the featherweight division. How many have done that in a 12month period.

Ideally if I was Team Frampton I'd want a soft defence in Belfast then the LSC rematch.

Featherweight is a stacked division with a lot of 60/40 50/50 fights. It's about finding the ratio of the most profitable/winnable fight.

You'd have to think LSC offers a lot more money for Team Frampton than Selby.

Mate, lightweight in mma is 11 Stone. Connor can't even make 145lbs anymore let alone 135lbs.

For starters McGreggor won't see featherweight again, which as previously stated is kick up the arse off light welter in boxing. Most likely weight class is lightweight , 155lbs. 30lbs above Frampton .

There are so many other reasons this won't happen, but "for starters" is actually enough.

LSC rematch looks nailed on.
Selby is attractive in UK.

I am genuinely shocked McGregor's name is even mentioned in this thread..two completely different sports and I agree 'for starters' is more than such a discussion merits!!
