De La Hoya would win in a walk... Similar to the way he beat Mayorga.. A boxer just beats a crude swinger down with slickness and counter-punching.

I don't think that Oscar take a shot like Hagler.Mugabi hit harder than Trinidad and Vargas. After fight against Hagler Mugabi was another fighter than before.

Agreed. As far as chin and toughness, Hagler is top notch. But Oscar was pretty tough in his own regard and always had a good chin at his best. He had decent recuperative abilities and wasn't hurt all that much til the end of his career. That said, Mugabi I feel is naturally bigger and stronger than most of Oscar's opponents while Oscar's strengths are more suited to welter.

Mugabi was a Big Strong Jr Middleweight and I remember that he was number 1 contender for Hearns Belt at that weight but instead jumped up too Middleweight and gave The Great Hagler his toughest fight for yonk's ODLH was a blown up Jr Lightweight for that reason coupled with the POWER that Mugabi possessed and especially John being in his PRIME I could not see no way ODLH holding off the BEAST and boxing his way to a dec that being the only way Oscar could win.....Mugabi in 6

Mugabi seems very overrated to me, although I don't know how well-suited ODLH was to this weight.
