Forget it Danny !!!

I mean that bloody Left Hook ( or the Sinan Samil Sam Invitation as it is known ! ).
If he tries that against Tyson and leaves his left side exposed the way he did against SSS - it is Good night !
Box long - stiff jabs - throw hard single shots for 3-4 rounds then bring both hands into play - DW should win - will he wet himself though ?.
If he does not wet himself - DW wins fairly easily - employ the Botha Method minus getting knocked out !
Can't help thinking when should have brought manny Steward on board for this fight - JMc is fine but not experienced enough to guide DW when the going gets tough..if it does !
Manny is way over rated but still; good at what he does.

I'm not sure. Jimmy Mac is one of those few boxing trainers who has actually been there and done it. he fought for the WBC super-featherweight title against Azumah Nelson, a boxing legend if ever there was one. So I think Jimmy's input will be vital. Yes, maybe Manny could have advised on the more technical side, but I think Jimmy will do a good job, whatever.

Jimmy Mac will tell Williams he has all the tools and talent in the world as usual. But has he really? It's a long time since I've seen anything near impressive from Williams, in fact I can hardly recall anything. Mentally we know he is weak, but is he really that good without the mental weakness? Perhaps not.

Nothing wrong with that uppercut, it's just when he uses it. He launched it from the outside against SSS, thus leaving himself open and remember, Sam was taller and it was a great right-hand he floored Danny with, just as he was settling down and getting into things. It totally changed the momentum of the fight.
If Danny can time Tyson as he comes in it could be a very effective shot, especially if it's launched as more of a left hook-cum uppercut a la Razor Ruddock – Defensively it's a good shot too, because a hook thrown after a right hand brings you back to your normal stance.
Not only that, but the momentum of Tyson leaning in and Williams pushing the shot out equals quite a meaty impact. Remember when Lewis caught Tyson like that, his legs went v-wobbly indeed.
Danny has to do what Douglas did. Beat Tyson to the punch, move to the side and bang in another jab/r-hand and just totally stop Tyson being able to set himself.
Lennox had the right idea about the best punch for the coup de grace. He kept Tyson on the outside, feinted the jab and when Tyson tried to slip to the left, slotted in the right-hand he felt Tyson's head was going to go and WHAM! Nunnight Mikey! Holyfield did the same too (but remember, he also floored Tyson with a left in the sixth round of their first fight.)

yeah thats harsh on jimmy mac he knows what its like to fight the best and gave a very good account of himself against nelson until his eye went on him.
i can't c williams winning cos he's too easy to hurt.

i've never really seen the ability that everyone keeps banging on about.

sure he's got a decent right hand and a decent jab when he decides to use it. but he's nothing special, nothing stands out. to beat tyson u need to be a very good fighter, even a 38 yr old tyson.

And I dont think anyone has mentioned how Sprott hurt Williams pretty badly in their third fight and his power is powder puff compared to Tyson. The more I debate it the more I am convinced Tyson will steamroll him.

However, Tyson has to actually be throwing shots to hurt Danny, it is possible that he simply won't be active enough to beat even Williams.

You have summed it up very well.
No version of Williams could ever beat any version of Tyson.

people bang on about following the douglas template

douglas was a quality fighter and had a lot more talent than danny williams has ever shown. he largely outboxed tucker until the heat got him. williams has never mixed with any1 at that level.

No you're wrong. Put the Tyson of today against Williams, an underachiever like Douglas, and you'vethe prospect of an upset! Tyson's had 49 seconds action since losing to Lewis and I don't think he's been in the gym every day since beating Etienne has he, so sometime sooner rather later, his past will catch up to him big time – saying that, it already did, when he got one round into the Lewis fight and realised he couldn't knock Lewis out.
I'm putting 10squid on Danny to pull a monumental shock in one round at around 80-1. Just a silly feeling I've got. I don't normally follow my hunch, hence why I lost out on Tak acing Farnell in a round and the unbelievable amount of cash I'd have won if I'd followed my instinct and put £20 on Holyfield stopping Tyson when he did in their first fight.

when he fancied it he was one of the best... great hand and foot speed. balance, decent power and decent chin.
he also beat Oliver McCall, Trevor Berbick....

I doubt Tyson can be KO'd with a single shot or that quickly. Lewis who hits a lot lot harder than Williams absolutely smashed him about for 8 rounds and Holyfield walloped him plenty. Really cant see it hence the 80-1. good luck though. Tyson KO 1 would be a better bet.
