Fitness leader Reebok today announced a new partnership with one of the most exciting young fighters in British boxing, 19-year-old Conor Benn. The super lightweight boxer will team up with Reebok to represent the brand in the ring and front their training and combat campaigns throughout 2017.

Very good news for Conor I believe.

Not sure you can compare the two, Eubank JR has been in good fights and beat good fighters.

That's literally the best news I've ever heard, I couldn't be more excited. Gonna go knock one out over this huge announcement. My Nan just died but this really eases the pain.

My thoughts too. I couldnt wait for eubank jr to make his debut but got sick off all the self hype. As with Benn he is also reading the same self hype book.

To be fair I still don't rate him much. He's a solid top 10 fighter but far from the best in the division. His fights are always entertaining though, I'll give him that much. He's an exciting fighter to watch.

Being top ten and as young and fresh as he is seems like an achievement in and of itself to me.

Not really clear what Eubank should have done by now that he hasn't. Nor was I aware that someone had to be the best in the division for us to like them. He's clearly an excellent fighter, may yet grow into one of the very best, and hasn't been afraid to face real competition. And his fights are exciting. That'll do for me.

I'll reserve judgement on Benn til I see more of him, but there is not a fighter in the world that somebody on here doesn't deride as being poo.

With the comments re Eubank Jr getting sparked as the hype is because of his famous dad... yes the hype and the sh1t talked is only but to be fair to Eubank Jr, at least he's become a world level fighter

Benn looked great on his debut if a bit wild,struggled against Keleher then looked excellent last time out and pulled out a worldie of a KO but this is all against modest opposition so nobody can predict anything,for instance Eubank Jr has surpassed my expectations after i seen his 1st handful of fights

Too early to say against the opposition but he's still a teenager and he's been thrust into the spotlight without any real amateur pedigree so he must feel pressure,i dont think theres many people with the self confidence of the Eubanks

Conor did the best thing he could have done after the Keleher fight and that was reign it in a bit and dont fight so frantic,he did that last time so baby steps and all that....

It's too early to really tell much.

My mate got approached for the last bout. He'd had 1 fight, a win. They wanted to see his amateur card. He'd beat Keheler before. They didn't want to know. I told him they'd bring a one round job in. Luke was the only one who came to fight and he really struggled. He is several levels below Eubank Jr in talent. Trust me.

Seriously pisses me off seeing all the hype he is getting off the back of daddy's name as soon as he steps up he gets beat.

The boy can't help who his dad is can he? He's not looked anything special but he's only a kid and fightings obviously in the blood. I'll reserve judgement on him til he's a bit more developed. There's something not quite right about writing off someone so young.

Because they are plenty more deserving young welterweights but it is what it is.

Don't get the dislike for Conor Benn. So far he's seemed like a very decent guy.

He's got fairly good speed of hand and foot, but is technically a mess and seemed fairly easy to hit against Keleher (the other two opponents were horrible). His lack of experience really shows....

Sponsorship deals aren't handed out on a meritocratic basis. The sole criterion when deciding who gets sponsored is how much publicity and therefore revenue the recipient will generate. Conor's surname will generate more interest among casual fans of boxing than any number of higher ranked fighters in his division and so he gets the deal.

Don't blame him, blame the man in the street - it's his fault.

Precisely, what would people have Conor do? Renounce his family name - it's not like he can avoid it.

The fact is, familiarity means popularity, means money in the till, people getting irked at Conor are really banging their heads against a brick wall.

Agree with all these rational posts. I strongly suspect he will get found out if he goes anywhere near Top 10 domestic, but so what. He's not depriving another fighter of a payday, he's just creating his own footprint.
