Tarver still not finished after a 2nd drug ban?

I love it. I'm American, but Whyte is absolutely right on the money with Tarver and his knock on the current American boxers. I used to sit here on this site, bashing the British fighters and fans but no longer. The Brits and other European fighters are carrying the sport right now and they all looking to fight the best (well, those not afraid of GGG). For Americans, they all want to be Floyd and copy his business model where you make the most money without ever risking it in a 50/50 fight unless you have to.

I was dead wrong about the Brits and have been rooting on British/European fighters consistently now. Their fans still bug me a bit with all their singing lol. But they are the most passionate fans around, without a doubt.

You're defo spot on about them bringing a lot of noise. It's like the fans that followed Hatton to Vegas vs. FMM, it wasn't a vast amount, but they made their voices heard.

the singing thing has come from the football fans and yes it does get annoying especially the "hatton wonderland" thing that seems to get sung for everyone ( just drop hatton for whoever boxing) these days

I get why Whyte is annoyed, but at the end of the day you have to remember he's talking about a 47 year old former light heavyweight.

Khan is not following Mayweather's career plan at all. Khan has repeatedly taken-on fights that he could and did lose. He has not been overly shy about taking risks. He fought Maidana, who many correctly believed posed a legitimate threat of KO'ing him. He fought Alvarez, who everybody knew Khan couldn't beat. Khan has always been willing to fight and get beat by Mayweather or Pacquiao. I have no idea how you even see a vague similarity between Khan's and Mayweather's careers. If anyone has been on the Mayweather plan, it's been Deontay Wilder -- undefeated, 5 title wins, scarcely a top 10 opponent between them, getting the best wins he can get without taking any risks whatsoever, slipping out of the Povetkin fight and then going into hiding for a year. If Deontay fought someone like Fury, Klitschko, Povetkin, Ortiz, Pulev, Joshua, Parker, or even Haye; then he'd be taking a risk, which is not what you do on the Mayweather plan, but Wilder has not and will not fight any of them.

Khan is at a stage now where the only fights he wants are either low risk, or ridiculously high risk with high reward.

By fighting these "ridiculously high risk" fights he can come out of the fight with credit even though he lost (Canelo). Whereas he will avoid someone like Brook or Thurman. I even think the Garcia rematch is a pretty safe fight for Khan, he should be able to outbox him no problem (as he did for majority of their first fight), however as always with Khan, anyone who can slightly bang is a dangerous fight.
