What should Brook do now?

I think he has outgrown welterweight and maybe middleweight is a step too far. I think 154 would suit him best TBH. Full credit to Kell for tonights performance, he fought like a warrior but his eye had gone and his corner did the right thing pulling him out. I had picked the correct round but I didn't expect it to end the way that it did. Kell can be proud of the way he stood up to GGG but I couldn't see him winning even though the judges did have him up on points. GGG would have stopped Kell sooner or later, he was getting into range and landing heavily. A lot of good fights at 154.

Lots of options at welter but I don't think he'll go back there.
Khan is the usual answer but I think Khan goes back to 147 and I don't think Kell should waste any more time or energy pursuing that. If it's going to happen let Khan fire the first shot.

154 and 160 are both filled with big paydays and potential domestic rival. I also think tonights showing demonstrates he is capable of picking up a title at either weight.

Liam Smith, Eubank, BJS?
Cotto, Canelo, Andrade, Jacobs, Lara, one of the Charlo brothers?

Not saying all of them can be made or would be desirable, but plenty there if he wants more big fights.
And lets be honest, if he does go bak to 147 he has a number of lucrative options. Is he going to be terrified of Spence Jr, Thurman or Garcia after tonight?

It would be a shame to see him go back to Jojo Dan and the likes.

Eubank jr would be an amazing fight.

Probably get surgery on his broken orbital bone (if that is the case which it looks like it is).

Yeah that's kinda crucial too

I figure he'll be getting that done within the week.

After he won his IBF belt he went and got himself stabbed a second time. I’d be delighted for him if he could just lead a nice boring existence til his next outing. Like a monk preferably.

Yeah I'd imagine so. Maybe within the next few days even. Wouldnt surprise me if he had surgery on Monday or Tuesday actually.

Go to the hospital and get Eddie to Tweet out a picture of his X-ray, like Burns and Quigg. It's the Matchroom way.

Take a rest for the rest of the calendar year, he got bashed up a bit tonight.

I'd say continue his campaign as a Welterweight Champion. He hasn't lost any credibility in that weight division.

If not, then certainly he should be looking at starting anew at Light Middleweight. And i think that Liam Smith (after he loses to Canelo) would prove a very natural opponent.

Yeah they probably will. But you know what? I don't mind it one bit.

If he heals quickly enough I'd like to see him fight Canelo / Smith winner next.

Every fight from now on has to be a big one for Kell - he should go on a Frochesque run of fights

Here's the Ring magazine top 10 for LMW

http://www.ringtv.com/ratings/?weightclass=277

I think he fits in well here and is a much bigger name now. His WW days are behind him, and I don't think he will be scared to take a loss now: he's famous and he has a lot of support in the UK now despite of it. If he became a win some lose some fight anybody type, I think the British public is going to love him.

How about one of them Charlo brothers? Do you think he could somehow get a fight with Cotto? Stranger things have happened.

Lara would be nice but it's a hard sell, isn't it.

He needs to push for Canelo fight. It can easily happen I think. Beat Canelo and then go after other junior middle weights. Brook v Canelo, Brook v Andrade would be massive.

I do reckon the Cotto fight is the perfect balance of payday vs risk. I think Brook would look fairly comfortable at 154 vs an aging Cotto.

Just wonder if Cotto would fancy it

I'm convinced he will fight Khan next summer probably at Wembley- don't see him fighting again till then- Eddie will promote it as the biggest ever British fight

I think Cotto fight makes a lot of sense and he would have a viable chance. I think against Canelo he would be a quite considerable underdog and would be a fight to work towards not jump into IMO. Canelo is a serious talent, plus he would want fight in US and does seem to benefit from kind scoring. Cotto a massive name and good fight for both fighters. I certainly wouldn't have GGG vs Canelo as "50/50" but GGG does get hit, and if he gets tagged by Alvarez he will know about it. Fighting Cotto he would then be able to benchmark chances (to an extent) against Canelo. Cotto could be big enough for PPV either on Sky (prob have to be UK), or maybe on a US Network?

LMW is his only option.

He's talked himself out of the WW division & the MW is not safe whilst Golovkin is still 'living', so his only option is 154.

cotto is the golden ticket for any fighter around the weight. one of the top names in the sport, a genuine ppv attraction, well past his best and clearly looking for cash out fights. brook would beat cotto handily at this point

I wouldn't be confident that Brook can go 12 rounds with Canelo. He'd have to do it the long route against Cotto too.

Surely they need to focus on opponents that can be knocked out?

He'll have to go to the US again if he wants Cotto or Alvarez. I'd love to see either.
