Unfortunately it's not really up to Golovkin. It's up to whoever has the balls to actually step up to the plate and fight him.

He'll end up fighting a scrub because Saunders, Eubank, Jacobs and Canelo want nothing to do with him and let's face it, other than Lemieux those are the major guys in the division.
Saunders will fight a bum like Max Bursak whilst ducking better opponents with the claim that "he'd gain nothing from the fight". Canelo will just ignore GGG and cherry pick another weak opponents, Jacobs will wait until GGG is tied down with a contract to face someone like Heiland or Andy Lee before running his mouth again and Eubank will keep mouthing off on twitter but when it comes down to it will dig up another British level title defence against someone like John Ryder.

Eubank is yet to beat a fighter of note above domestic / fringe European level either. Instead of stepping up his level of opposition he's fighting another domestic level fighter next month

Good call. I forgot about this guy. He's a real prospect. Lot of strength in those massive shoulders. Teddy atlas was very impressed with him. That would be an awesome fight but won't get the views or money that those others fights mentioned would.

Forget the last two.
Alvarez has already ducked Golovkin & Eubank Jr could have been in that ring last night with GGG, but didn't fancy it, despite his ambitious tweeting.
Saunders might not duck Golovkin like the other two, but it all depends on the most lucrative option.

I can see Al Haymon allowing Daniel Jacobs to face GGG in his next bout, because there seems to be a thawing in his frosty relationship with HBO, but there might be financial issues that may prevent this decent match-up.
Perhaps Haymon may make a goodwill gesture in the hope that he can eventually persuade HBO to be included amongst the existing set of networks televising his PBC shows?

Jacobs if WBA orders and pushes it. Otherwise Saunders. Canelo will keep hiding at least until next September.

It's like winning the lottery in reverse.

I think Canelo and Oscar will have been heartened by what they saw last night and will be much more likely to make the GGG fight than was previously thought

GGG likes collecting the belts. All your belts belong to ggg tour is in full action. So I think the ggg team will look to sign a fight against BJS for the WBO belt.

I don't want to see Canelo vs GGG anymore. I'm done entertaining the thought of this fight ever happening. I hope canelo loses his next fight.

Win the WBO title so all the MWs have to go through him to get a shot at a legit 160 belt.
Maybe BJS has more confidence in light of how many people are going on about Brook doing well.

ATG
Sorry, beating up a 154 lb money making pop star doesn't make you an ATG.
Just as a matter of the era he's in, GGG is going to have to go up to prove ATG status.
Unfortuneately, he passed on Froch and Ward. Those are the fights that would have led to ATG status.
Jacobs, BJS, Canelo ...

He didn't pass on Froch. Team GGG were offering him all the concessions, Froch was having none of it and retired. "Swerve him like the plague"
