I felt at the time that he stopped it early but all in all he made the perfect decision boxing is one of the most brutal sports he saved the lad !

What do you guys feel ?

Perfect decision I reckon. A brutal KO could have had a terrible effect on Brook, mentally and physically. He lives to fight another day and has done himself no harm at all with that brave performance.

How the hell was it are planned?

Kell was tapping his eye as early as the second. He knew something wasn't right.

Good decision. Why prolong the inevitable? The damaged eye was bad enough but he was due a beating if it went on.

Yeah it would have been painful to watch if Brook got sparked cold

Taking punishment with a broken orbital bone was not worth it. Good stoppage.

Ingle was spot on.

Maybe he was a tad early, who knows, but it's a damn site better than being too late.

I believed that Brook would have taken a frightful pounding had he been allowed to carry on, because he is tough & game.

Ingle has saved his charge to fight another day.

I remember Tony Tucker suffered the same injury from Seldon's jab but totally concealed it, maintained his poker face, showed no personal discomfort etc. Perhaps unrelated but Tucker is now blind in that eye, and in the cold light of morning it was probably sensible to pull Brook out - but do you think Brook made the job harder for himself by making such a demonstration of his distress to his opponent? Very easy for me to say from the dangerous grounds of my living room, writing without a shattered orbital bone, but interested in opinion.

I agree GGG knew that Brook wasn't feeling comfortable but you know what his eye socket was really damaged and after seeing the X-RAYs I am glad he can fight again he has too much quality

Whats next for Brook now ? 147 or 154

Oh yes, in a similar situation I'd presumably have soiled myself publicly and started crying, so not criticising Brook at all, but I was surprised at how such an experienced fighter could make such a show of his distress.

He was dabbing at it and pulling faces in round 2 and then came storming back to win the round.

I've said in multiple posts how astounded I was by his attacks, but regarding the injury as I recall he was making a show of his concern regarding it in every round. Have I misremembered the fight? Will watch it again tonight I'm sure.

Yes

Brook wasn't going to win. He was just going to keep eating big shot after big shot until eventually he got KO'd. It was obvious he lacked the power to hurt GGG which was his only chance of winning so a shock KO was out of the question. Better to pull him out early than risk another Nick Blackwell.

It would take someone of very limited intelligence to try and argue otherwise.
