Povetkin is very patient indeed. I don't think Povetkin himself was that scared of Wlad, but he had to duck him for 4+ years because his team was scared badly of that fight. Especially his manager and his trainer

People who scared of someone do not become pro boxers. Most of them are no smart enough to scare.
It's the manager and trainer job to avoid their guy to be massacred in mismatches.

With WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder on the mend, the sanctioning body ordered Alexander Povetkin and Bermane Stiverne to face one another for the interim title. The two have reportedly come to terms and will "soon" release the date and location for their showdown.

Povetkin (30-1, 22 KO) was all set to face Deontay Wilder earlier this year before testing positive for traces of meldonium. Though this resulted in the bout’s cancellation, the small quantity in his system and subsequent testing have cast doubt on whether "Russian Vityaz" ingested the drug after January 1st, when VADA added it to their banned substance list.

He’s won four straight, all by stoppage, since falling to Wladimir Klitschko in 2013.

Stiverne (25-2-1, 21 KO) has fought just once since getting dominated by Wilder last year, a ten-round decision over Derric Rossy in which he was dropped in the first round. Not exactly the sort of momentum one would like to bring into a world title fight.
