It's really amazing that there are so called "promoters" who give the sport of boxing a bad name. Yet somehow there are allowed to operate and nobody stops them.

Boxing has a lot of problems like that. The promoter is often the manager of one or more of the fighters he's promoting. Doesn't sound very fair.

This sort of caper has always bin in and around boxing

It's politics no different than any other organization that operates in the private sector of the world. Without legal regulation, it's always going to come down to money. I'm sure that the promoter's first move is to grease the palms of the major boxing commissions like Nevada. That's why Nevada doesn't just hand out licenses to people. They are paid by current promoters to keep their circle small and keep out the competition.

It's too bad because I think that the biggest problem with Boxing is that the sport is run mostly by several promoters that are running it a muck. If there were more promoters competing for fans dollars, I think that fans would benefit from better cards and fights. If anything was proved with the Floyd Mayweather experiment, boxing fans aren't going anywhere and we'll pay to see whatever crap they throw at a wall.
