If anyone didnt know already,Sky are showing this card on saturday
Looking forward to it,its a great match up,credit to Glowacki for taking a dangerous fight against a strong unbeaten opponent who's been tipped for the top since he turned over,if im being honest im still not entirely sold on Usyk, considering he's KO'd everybody he's been in with it might seem harsh but from what i remember he has little lulls in his fights before finding the finish, the Cruiserweight division is dangerous and everyone has power so i wouldnt say its a giving that he becomes champ just yet,Glowacki obviously unbeaten himself coming off a wide win over Cunningham,he had Steve down 4 times but he did struggle at times and if Cunningham didnt keep going over he might have nicked it
Im struggling to pick a winner here as Usyk hasnt been in with a real live dog yet so i'll go with Glowacki on points

Cunningham gets bounced off the canvas in most of his fights at world level.
Usyk has looked a bit porous at times for sure but he has never been as hurt as Glowacki was vs Huck. He carries good power and should be winning the fight from the outside all night. If anyone is getting KO'd I'd expect it to be Glowacki

That's because he hasn't fought anyone with a pulse yet at cruiserweight.

He's been hit by heavyweights and never looked troubled.

Well his chin will get tested at some point in this one undoubtedly. Unless he manages to catch Glowacki cold or something.

Glowacki is very overrated. For what reason I don't know. He's pretty limited himself. Huck was ahead on the cards. Cunningham was winning rounds and would have won if he wasn't going down when clipped like he does in every fight.
This really isn't a contest.

I guess time will time. I haven't been overly impressed with Usyk myself- hence my posts. This fight will answer some questions though.
I think Lebedev is the best at cruiserweight and is underrated by some who seem to just perceive him as a tough brawler. I think his boxing ability is underrated.

I agree, Lebedev may not 'look like' a boxer as he's not particularly slick or athletic but hes fundamentally pretty sound and has good enough ringcraft, albeit he isn't too difficult to hit

He's got a good chin though so it doesn't tend to factor too much. His counter punching ability is decent aswell.
It looks like he be fighting Gassiev next. He can punch but I'm not sure about much beyond that. However he is 15 years younger than Lebedev at 22 so who knows.

Can't wait for this. Glowacki is a real champion. 95% of current world champions could learn from him. No ducking, looks to fight the best out there.

agreed.
I like his body work. He's a bit slow but so are 90% of world class cruiserweights since the division limit went up from 190-200 lbs.
Good how he can turn a fight around. Hope he can grind down Uysck in a good fight.

Every year there's a fight of the year candidate for a world cruiserweight title.
Looks to be a great offensive matchup. Gritty blue chip pro vs amateur superstar / super talent.
Could Usyck fall apart in his inexperience vs a seasoned Polish hard case, ala Chakiev v Wlodarczyk?

Usyk reminds me of a poor man's Lomachenko- a lot of the same attempted upper body movement but Usyk looks a lot more herky jerky doing it. I also think he does my hit as hard as his current KO ratio suggests. It's just the guys he's been fighting haven't been great or they've been over the hill.
If he beats Glowacki is a dominant fashion then I'll be a lot more impressed and will recognise him as legit.

Cruiserweight is a rough, tough and nasty weight class. Lots of wars and scary KOs. Amateur stars have been battered before on their big night. Not only Rakim Chakiev but also Alexander Alexeev. It takes some decent development to be a force up there.
His team must think he's something special. Next superstar - or spectacular fall? Sometimes pedigree isn't enough.
Hoping for a brutal slugfest!

Huge step up in the pro-game for Usyk.
I'm in the minority and fancy Glowavki to edge a close points decision. He looks a tough man and I think Usyk could struggle if he hits him with his best shot and Glowacki is still there coming forward.

KG is a hard man to stop Huck following a bad knockdown. He's good in a crisis which may help if things get tough.
Curious how Usyk responds if he's dragged in the deep waters.

Ashamed to say I've not seen much of the "Scourge of the South African Cruiserweights". Good we can see this tonight.

Really looking forward to this one! Autobarns comments are spot on! A good few amateur stars have been beaten up in recent years and KG showed big balls to get rid of Huck!
The winner against Lebedev will be a great fight

Usyk has only had 9 fights? That even makes AJ's early title tilt look sensible.

I give Usyk the first two rounds but I don't think he's going to win it.
