Danny looks too bulky to me, cannot see the midriff, but I am shocked he has come in so heavy, what has happened to Danny. He seems incapable of getting below 260 these days. Maybe he is still fit at that weight, but there's no way all those extra pounds can benefit you when it comes to endurance. Had he come in at 250-255 I think he had a far better chance.

Still gonna put a 5ver on Danny to win in the 1st round.

Fat Danny is going down. 265 is ridiculous for a guy his height.

Kiss goodbye to that fiver then James. 8)

The weird thing is, Danny never really looks fat as such, most guys would have bitch titties at 265, but Danny always looks solid. It's still too heavy though.

Copy cat!!!

Danny's shoulders have always been huge. I know for a fact he's been training very hard and I think the upperbody work will have been done to improve his strength, because despite his size, I don't think that Danny has never been the strongest of heavyweights. Remember how Keith Long bullied him around inside? Well if Tyson can do that Danny's in big trouble and I think team Williams have taken that into account.

On the movement side of things, Takaloo told me that Danny worked on not being so static. He said that if Danny used movement to create angles he'll give Tyson problems and he said he'd watched tapes of Tyson in his heyday and the Tyson against Botha and how slow on his feet he is. He said that even though he still has fast hands, and it's not as if Danny will have to be able to move like Ali to get out of the way out of this version of Tyson.

I'm putting a tenner on Danny to win in a round and 10 in the fourth. Great odds all round (80-1 and 66-1 last time I looked).

exactly, Danny is certainly one of the trimmer heavies (ie less body fat) but because he has big legs he comes in heavy and everyone calls him fat.

So Tyson is 16st 9lbs. Some of the blind loyal reckoned he'd be coming in around 220! They paid to much attention to those cheekbones methinks.

Can I just ask though, HOW THE HELL is Danny Williams going to win this fight in the first round?

Williams is hardly going to be quick on his feet at that weight is he? This is going to be an absolute walkover.

Jesus Danny's arms look huge. I've no doubt he's been training hard though, the extra bulk will be intentional.
Sounds likes he's banking on banging some big shots home early & getting Mike's respect. I bet he's still fitter than Tyson is.

Tyson hasn't been cracked on the chin since the final Lewis right hand remember - no-one really knows how good that chin is these days.

Danny just better keep that left hand up....

I think the move and jab strategy are clearly out of the window. I think a hold, wrestle, parry, lean strategy to tire out Tyson and then power shots down the stretch are probably, based on assumptions following his weight, going to be his tactics.

He certainly isn't going to be dancing at 18-13.

233 aint bad for a 38 year old who weighed about 222 when winning the title 18 years ago.

Tyson will have too much of everything for Danny.

Having siad that 80/1 is good value for a Williams win, he could cut Tyson, or win by DQ, or even get lucky.

Might have a tenner, purely on spec.

Lets hope not,

Strangely, Danny was pretty mobile against Michael Sprott when he weighed 267 I believe, he seems to carry the extra weight well. Remember Tony Tubbs, he lived up to his name, but he was pretty light on his feet, buster Mathis Jr was too I recall. However, down the stretch if Danny is being made to work, that bulk will come back to haunt him.

But for Danny to wipe out a fresh Tyson inside the first round it's surely going to take more than one punch, which means he's surely going to take something back while he's throwing combinations. Is he just going to walk through that?

Any serious assault started by Danny Williams will be immediately halted the second he gets tagged I guarantee it.

In the early going it's going to be much more important for Danny to avoid Tyson's bombs than to land his own, IMO.

No way Tyson falls in one.

He might fall apart in the 8-9-10 if Williams is beating him up but nobody has ever dropped him that easily.

But he is S2S, so you never know.

As Dave suggests, his best hope would be in holding, wrestling etc. I think Danny is definetly physically stronger than Tyson, he's an absolute beast of a man, he's going to dwarf Tyson in that ring. Tyson doesn't like being leaned on, if Danny can frustrate him with his bulk, it could work.

I cannot see Danny taking Tyson out in the first four, but he does need to slam in some serious shots to get his respect, otherwise Tyson will gradually get his eye in. One thing Tyson hasn't lost is his punching technique, it's his timing which is off, and after a few rounds, it slowly comes back, as Botha and Nielsen both found out.

80/1 - what's that for, a first round win? No chance of that I'd say.

Just for a Williams win, the best I can see is 13/2 - anyone know of better?

Worth a tenner I reckon.

I wouldnt put any money on williams, as relaxed as he says he is now i think he'll $hite himself at fight time.

For williams to lean on inside and push tyson around he is going to be in range for the big tyson uppercuts and hooks, one of those on the button will be enough.

I'll tell you what Danny should do, is what Lewis and Holyfield both did to good effect, and that is to push Tyson off when he comes in. Holyfield did this to Tyson in their first fight, and what shocked me was how much stronger than Tyson he seemed to be, I remember how he was tossing Tyson around like a rag doll.

It was the same tactic Foreman used against Frazier, simply bulldozering him around the ring and upsetting his rhythm, whenever Frazier tried to get close he'd eat a shot and then get pushed back off again. For Frazier it was like trying to roll a turd uphill.

Williams is more shot than Tyson.

All this talk about Tyson being shot is bollocks.

He is preserved.

He was only allowed to fight Lewis while he was sedated. FACT

Tyson will slaughter Williams and I'd even back him to do Vitali.

Vitali was awful against Sanders, bloody awful.

I think the William's camp have decided that DW's best chance is just to outmuscle Tyson and frustrate. Bad tactics as he has always been quite strong on the inside

Where he is weaker is when he is pushed back and made to eat a jab or right when off balance

Holyfield was much smarter than just pushing him off. He did that to begin with to show that he could, but then he really won the fight, I think, by stepping in with his left leg planted between Tyson's stance. This put Tyson off balance and stopped him getting any power in his shots

Williams is not smart enough or fast enough to do that, so will just try and smother.

It will be an ugly fight and, like life in the dark ages "nasty, brutal and short"

Tyson was asked whether he was sedated or not, and didn't give any indication that he was or he wasn't. Where is this FACT from exactly? Are you suggesting that Lewis' camp insisted on him being sedated? From what I have read of Tyson's chemical intake, he stops taking the medication in the run in to the fight. I read this when he was trying to get his license renewed. All of the information regarding his mental condition and his medication was revealed during trial and there were downloadable transcripts, which made for very interesting reading. Where are your facts from that are more reliable than that?

I would suggest that Tyson's passive state was caused by Lewis hammering the fight out of him in the 1st round with jabs like telegraph poles smashed into his face.
