Yamanaka stated on Saturday that he wants to unify and mentioned Haskins as a likely foe. What's folk make of this one if it's made for 2017?

I was at Bristol City FC yesterday when Haskins did a half time appearance with his belt - I think the Yamanaka unification is the next chase and they are trying to bring it to the new revamped Ashton Gate Stadium

Yeah their was talk from Yamanaka and Mr Hamada about getting in on the British money, NTV pay well but I think they are imagining ppv money over here...got a feeling they believe Haskins is a bigger draw than he is

True, I can see Haskins selling about 10-12k tickets in the stadium that will hold 27k. Will be a Bellew at Goodison Park Stadium type fight (ring in at one end)
I can't see Lee headlining a bill anywhere else and he hasn't got the boxing style or following to top a PPV

Yamanaka wins. Haskins is a beatable Champ. Good fighter, but I didn't think he deserved the decision over Stuart Hall...certainly not by the scores he got it with. If he'd won a close Split Decision whatever, but the scores were ridiculous. I thought Hall won the fight, and Yamanaka's a lot better than Stuart Hall.

On the flip side if it is held over here history is certainly with Haskins, no Japanese fighter has won a world title fight in Europe IIRC

Yeah, and there's a good chance it would be in the U.K. as I figure they could pack in a bigger crowd there. I'd still favor Yamanaka though. I just think he'd win too convincingly for them to be able to take it from him. The Stuart Hall fight was at least close. I think this one would be pretty clear cut.

Good fight. Can't see past Yamanaka. I'd much rather see McDonnell v Yamanaka tbh. Better matched.

McDonnell has got Rau'shee Warren to deal with first.

Hopefully they can have a mini-tournament and he can fight the winner.

Yamanaka obviously coming off that fight of the year calibre KO of Moreno to close their rivalry.

Was shocked at the result as I was never fully convinced by him and didn't like his style. Respect to the man.

Yes, rather see McDonnell in with him. Jamie is much more solid a fighter than Haskins at this point. I suspect Yamanaka has seen his best days despite punctuating his title reign with style and think McDonnell is the fighter to capitalise.

A shame then that McDonnell's promoter doesn't have him headlining, building a following and pulling crowds... But he does it for Warrington in Leeds - for football fans and slappers that throw beer around the arena - for no title, indeed a guy who rejected a title fight.

If it goes ahead, Haskins and Yamanaka, at least our fighters are continuing to dare take on elite names.
