From Marciano and Mayweather's 49-0 records.

Do you think he'll get there? I think he had a tough fight moving up and fighting Cuadras, but he is defo skilled enough to reach 49-0. we've seen some boxers reach 47-0 or 48-0 and just flop. I think we'll have to wait til he's 30 to see how is record goes on from there.

He may have an easy first defence, maybe co-feature GGG's next card in December, that should be 47-0. then Next year 2 or 3 fights should do it.

Ofcourse, he's only 29 & would be the heavy favorite vs anyone else in his division. Strangely though these records seem to be based heavily on retiring with the '0'. Fighters such as Chavez racked up some pretty big numbers but eventually lost - so what does it really matter?

Of course he can. However, I do not think he'll put it into cruise control and stride gently into 49-0. Cuadras is likely to be one of the three fights, and I assume at least one of the others will be top-top opposition, right?

I understand what you are saying. I think Chavez lost his 80th odd fight. Also FMJ initially retired at 39-0. When he signed that 6 fight deal with showtime, that's when we knew h'ed attempt the 49-0.

I think Gonzalez can continue unbeaten for a few years with some amazing fights, I don't know whether he'll attempt Bantamweight, but we'll have to see.

Heavy favorite against Inoue ??? I doubt he will be a favorite. His last fight showed that he is not big and strong enough for the new weight.

you think he would be the underdog? he moved up to fight an unbeaten champion in the weight division above in his last and he was still a huge favorite.

"Was" is a key word. He would not be in a rematch.

Bouts with Srisaket, Cuadras and Inoue wouldn't see him start as a "heavy" favourite

Inoue will end the streak.

He might, but he's just starting to see nice money. He'll never retire without a loss.

I agree, co-featuring with GGG has been good exposure for him, and the viewers for his last fight show that he has won over fans in the US.

He can if he takes on softer opponents or drops back down to 112.
