Me too.

Ezzard is the better boxer & greater fighter, but I don't think he'd be big enough to withstand the force of Baer.

Charles should be the favorite... The guy who beat Walcott twice would beat a prime Baer... Baer had no fundamentals... He had a great chin and a hard swing... He had huge shoulders and very long arms and legs... He had ZERO interest in Boxing Science and was a pure swinger... Charles would have no fear of Baer because of their disparity in Boxing skills.

Part of what swingers rely on is fear -- if your opponent is scared to death, you're free to smash him into the canvas like Baer did to Carnera.. Louis had ZERO fear of Baer and Braddock also had zero fear.. They knew all they had to do was outbox Baer.. Charles would make the same correct calculation.

You make some good points.

I picked Baer because he is bigger & he is a brute, but Charles is definitely the better fighter & technician as opposed to tge cruder Baer, so that evens things up somewhat.

Charles by a very lopsided decision. Baer would have a remote puncher's chance and that is it.

A very possible outcome.

However, my money would be on an Ezzard Charles UD. I think that is a more likely result.

But an interesting matchup to be sure & one i would pay to see.
