This fight is now confirmed for the Nov 19 Kovalev-Ward PPV.

Also, Barrera and Shabranskyy are both saying on twitter they want to fight each other, so hopefully Main Events and Golden Boy agree.

Really good news. This year level of Gvozdyk opponent has risen dramatically. Third world title contender in a row. Winner of this fight could enter into WBC top3

Solid fight.
Shabranskyy/Barrera is less interesting though. That doesn't add much PPV value for me.

Are they building Kovalev vs Gvozdyk ?

It's a good competitive fight though. Better than a lot of crap that is served up.
Kovalev - Ward
Gvozdyk- Chilemba
Shabransky- Barrera
That's a great triple header if it comes off.

Well Kovalev has to deal with Ward first.

Shabranskyy/Barrera is something that would have been on FNF back in the day. If it was on a free card I'd be 50/50 on whether I'd even bother to watch it.
I wish boxing would take a note from the UFC and put major fights on PPV undercards. Remember when Garcia/Mattysse was on the Floyd/Canelo undercard? That is what convinced me to spend the $75. I'm done spending all that money on 1 fight. I want a stacked card top to bottom and if I don't get it, I'll just wait a week and watch the main event for free.

I don't think so. They are friends and have one manager - Klimas. Now Gvozdyk is #4 at WBC rank and Chilemba is #10, so I think that Gvozdyk is moving on WBC line and if he successfully pass Chilemba he will fight in WBC eliminator.

I agree. Good (and heavy) menu. Watch and learn, De La Hoya :-)

Looks like Stevens will be on the PPV, maybe against Arias.
Barrera and Shabranskyy both want the fight, but I imagine Main Events has to get approval from Roc Nation and maybe that's what's preventing it from being made.

So the undercard will likely be:
Gvozdyk vs. Chilemba
Shabranskyy vs. Barrera
Stevens vs. Arias
Sorry but that is not impressive. I will probably skip the PPV and watch Kovalev/Ward the following week on HBO.

You're a difficult one to please. I think that would be an excellent undercard, much better than the undercards on the other PPVs this year. I'll be attending the event.
But Shabranskyy vs. Barrera and Stevens vs. Arias are not necessarily on the card.
Stevens will be, but no opponent has been named yet. Arias as a Roc Nation boxer would make sense.
And although Barrera and Shabranskyy both have been saying they want the fight, there has been no mention it from the promoters.

Looks like 3 competitively matched fights to me. If that were the undercard I'd consider it a good one.

Curtis Stevens vs. James De La Rosa is now confirmed (poor matchup, Arias would have been better)
Kovalev vs. Ward
Gvozdyk vs. Chilemba
Stevens vs. De La Rosa
and I'm hoping for Shabranskyy vs. Barrera, or some other good LHW like Pascal vs Barrera.

I can watch competitive matches on ShoBox or Telemundo or wherever. I am only paying extra money to watch elite matchups, and it's been a long time since I got sick and tired of paying $60 for 1 big fight and a couple of fights I may have some marginal interest in. This is why I've only bought 2 boxing PPVs in the last 5 years. The value is just not there.

As far as boxing undercards go it's not as bad as usual. Then again. I'm buying UFC 205 the week before that is more stacked than any boxing card I can think of. Their free prelims before the ppv will likely produce more entertainment than this card.

Curtis Stevens vs. James De la Rosa will be on the undercard, but not the PPV.
So far the PPV is:
Kovalev-Ward
Gvozdyk-Chilemba
Hooker-Perez
There will be one more fight added.
(by the way, Perez won't be fighting a Las Vegas prostitute, it will be Maurice "Mighty Mo" Hooker, a Roc Nation boxer)

Crusader and I were discussing this before; I'm not that sold on Gvozdyk. The power is impressive but the boxing ability I've seen so far, meh, not so much.
