I could see Gavin working as u tune up for Garcia, former top level ameteur, British champion, world title challenger and arespectable looking record on paper. He also has the skillset and solid enough chin to be competetive for a few rounds.

But I can't see his fans standing for Eggington as an opponent, particularly after the Rod Salka fiasco.

Might of been a world title challenger but never earned the right to challenge for the title,it was a british affair to line the pockets of the hearns and brook

The title is misleading.

I doubt if Garcia has ever heard of Sam

His team was offered the choice of the two, they went away and had a look and came back with "we like the Eggington fight."

Is anyone actually shocked that Garcia went for the easiest option?

I'm aware of that, I'm just saying that from a marketing stand point he could do a lot worse than Gavin, as opponents go.

Eggington fits the profile for a Garcia opponent. Doesn't seem interested in fighting the top guys. A lot of noise and not enough action as usual from his camp. He's a good fighter but he's not as good as his arsehole of a dad tells him he is and he's rode his luck in a few fights now.

There's a Sam Eggington fan club in every state in the USA! They are known as the EggHeads and if you cut them they bleed Sam Eggington

No disrespect to Eggington, but Garcia is way out of his reach. Bradley Skeete would be more feasible, but even then.....

I'm under the impression that Garcia is happy to take keep busy fights hoping he gets the Mayweather comeback fight.
He's not taking any risks jeopardising that.

Garcia is a good fighter, I like his confidence in himself, but I thought Lamont Peterson beat him by about 3 or 4 rounds tbh. Where’s Peterson at in his career now? Still operational?

I believe his Dad plays a big role in him fighting subpar opposition, he's all about guiding Danny to the easy money. Shame as i like Danny as a fighter, he really needs to be doing more with his career.

Yeah I'd agree with that. He is a good fighter but his dad is that much of a pudendum he puts me off lol.
