Greg Page at his very best was a fantastic boxer. He will outbox David Tua in my view for the whole 12 or 15 rounds

Page was very talented, just didn't seem to have the inspiration to go for it. I'd favor him on their mutual best days.
I think David would be hitting at air...and when he did land, Page would likely have the chin and smarts to get out of trouble and regroup.

Interesting matchup. Definitely make for a visually great contest to watch.
This one Is the old "boxer vs puncher" combination of styles.
I'd also state that both men are somewhat underrated these days by the boxing public.
It's a fight that could do either way. I wouldn't be shocked if Tua stopped him, but i'm leaning toward Page.
Good thread though, don't remember these 2 being paired up before.

David Tua came from behind to beat:
-David Izon
-Fres Oquendo
-Talmadge Griffis
-Hasim Rahman
-Oleg Maskaev
-Danell Nicholson
Assuming you got the average performance of each man, I imagine that Tua would be in that same position opposite Page. Page was a lot of things, but susceptible to late KOs wasn't one of them until well past his prime. As a result - Page UD 10/12, probably wide.

- Tuaman was quite popular with fans, but apparently not here where koolaide and a regrettable streak of racism taints previous discussions.
Ranked 48th greatest puncher by Ring, where is Page's greatest ranking?
Tua showed sublime skill boxing off the backfoot against a rampaging Ike that set the record for punches. Tua landed the cleanest punches and I reckon both he and Ike to steamroll Page who's career was a yoyo of defeats. Nobody knocked guys like Tua vs Ruiz, Rahman, Oquendo, Moorer, and Maskaev.
He was plagued with management ripping him off rather than get him title shots. Page koolaide eh? Lucky for y'all boxrec don't do drug testing, so it was up to me to bust your little glee party.

Greg would be too much. The Louisville Rage would be Tua by a wide decision.

Greg Page in his prime was nowhere near as good as people thought he would be. Some people thought he was the new Ali. He wasn't great when he was pressed and Tua would press him. No way in the world page wins this fight.
When was Page's prime exactly? When he struggled with George Chaplin? When he was decked by Quick Tillis? When he lost 4 out of 5 fights either side of beating Coetzee? Maybe when he lost to Mark Wills..... Twice?

Page.
Tua was far too one dimensional & had no plan B, as evidenced during his embarrassing challenge for the title against an ageing Lennox Lewis.

My guess is that Tua simply outworks Page. I know Page had a lot of ability but I just can't see how he wins this one.

They were both erratic as Hell... If the Tua who blew out Ruiz and Moorer showed up, he would win. If the Page who knocked out Coatzee and Tillis showed up, he would win. It's like saying "Who would win between Buster Douglas and Malik Scott?" ... Scott lost 2 fights, but he was beaten before he got in there... Douglas wasn't prepared to win in many of his fights.
