Kalle seems to be think that it is about to be confirmed, so looks like he is out of the Joshua fight.

but then I saw this from Dave Allens Facebook
Everyone seems to think I'm fighting David price again in two weeks as his promoter (I think) has confirmed it but that's not the case I accepted it Monday on 3 weeks notice (way too short notice anyway) and now they come back and want to give me two weeks notice (giving me a week to train for biggest fight of my career) so I have turned it down and wil wait for something on a more level playing field

Makes me laugh, reckons he wants and is ready for Joshua yet will only give Dave Allen two weeks notice.

Allen is not ready for this level. I am not even sure if he will ever be. But if he is serious then he needs to step away from the lime light and work his ass off for few years. If he takes on Price now, knowing his chin and heart, he could get badly hurt. Bad idea.

Surely Price should be looking for bigger fish?
He hasn't beat even a top 50 opponent yet. His best win is arguably against a washed up Audley back in 2012...
Instead since getting KO'd by Thompson and Terper he keeps digging up East European builders to knock out. He should be looking at guys in the top 30, like Ruiz Jr, Miller... hell even someone like Charr.

David Price knows his level.
He isn't going to risk fighting someone with a pulse again, because he knows another defeat & he will be a regular fixture on Journeyman Street.

Surely he's got enough in him to beat the likes of Miller and Charr. Or at least people with better records than 30-25 or whatever that last clown he faced has.
Like, if he faced say a run of decent but easily beatable names like Charr, Washington, Scott and Miller he'd automatically be in title contention again. At the moment he's wasting time with scraps Hughie Fury wouldn't bother with.

Typical one-sided matchmaking, trying to get a tough but fairly limited type to fight him at very short notice. All the advantages to Price. David Price needs to earn a shot back at the top table after his previous woeful showings, but it looks like they're trying to fiddle him into position.

I doubt that Price could beat that lot.

Price has no confidence in himself.
He's trying to convince himself with all the calling out of Joshua, who has gone right past him in the reckoning, but deep down, I think Price knows the game is up for him & he's just trying to bag a title shot without risking himself too much.

I don't like the way people are talking as if Dave Allen is some megabum joke.
He is inexperienced after a limited amateur career, and clearly has major issues away from the gym.
I believe if he knuckles down beats his demons, sorts out a few technical flaws, and goes through the learning process he could achieve something.

He's not a bum but he's not a world class fighter either and very likely won't ever be. Price should be aiming for a better level of opponent at this stage of his career.

Allen is area level. Price should be fighting at euro level or fringe world.

Charr would ko Price imo. And I don't rate Charr highly at all.

Malik Scott would probably be a good opponent for Price. The reason being is that whilst Scott is a pretty slick opponent; he also seems to have an atrocious chin and any significant shot that lands on him drops him at the very least.

Price should be fighting at domestic level.
Allen and then the Whyte vs Lewison winner should be his aim.

Allen is a good talker and becoming a minor face as such he will get offered these fights but he needs to keep himself fit for short notice efforts like this otherwise he has no chance.

Price is area level too.
He's not daft: there's a reason why he isn't taking any risks at the moment.

From listening to Price he is clearly bitter after those defeats, he comes across as desperate for the big payout that he thinks he deserves.
I wouldn't be surprised if Allen would take him out if he could get through the first 4 or 5 rounds.

Price has been knocked out in five or under all three times he's fought around those last two levels, so I'm not sure that's the route he should take if he wants to cash out before being stopped again.
To be relatively safe, he should probably be fighting opponents like Allen and Cornish, or if they're looking to imports guys such as Sosnowski, Rekowski (the better of the two Poles), and Vidondo. Scott was mentioned, and due to his poor chin, questionable resolve, and light punch he's probably one of the best options for Price if he wants to fight someone further up the ladder. Maybe Price's team could convince people that Eddie Chambers is still a world class fighter too, because Eddie doesn't have much power and these days he hardly throws any punches.

The reason why they want Joshua though is because I don't think Price is overly bothered in whether he loses to Joshua because he knows he'll be rewarded handsomely despite the result.
It's better to just fight Joshua, get knocked out but get paid well rather than fight the likes of Cornish or Allen for not very much money and potentially get knocked out again and that would be his career finished with no potential for that big payday.
Does he deserves the big bucks? Not really but you can't blame him for trying I guess.

People say Allen has a chin and some serious heart....that could well be enough to beat Price!
2/3 weeks notice for Allen? Remember the two days notice they gave Dallas? Should have seen the writing on the wall then.
I agree with the 'Price is trying to convince himself he still has it' talk. It's not a case of him blagging it either, I think he genuinely has talked himself in to believing he has a chance. Hes trying all kinds of methods, denial, weight gain etc
First time he gets hit back/someone takes his best shot, he's back to where he was unfortunately.

Yeh agree, prices comes across like he's talked himself into believing the excuses. He obviously believes that it's because those guys failed drugs tests that he got beat, rather than anything to do with his own lack of chin or stamina.
