Tyson Fury: I don’t want to live anymore
WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury says he hasn’t been in the gym for months, has “done lots of cocaine” in the last few months, and doesn’t want to live anymore. In a long, sad and disturbing interview with Rolling Stone, Fury stated “I’ve done lots of cocaine. Lots of it. Why shouldn’t I take cocaine? It’s my life isn’t it? I can do what I want. Yeah, I have done cocaine. Plenty of people have done cocaine as well. What the f–k has that got to do with anything? That ain’t a performance enhancing drug. Am I not allowed to have a life now as well? Do they want to take my personal life off me too? I’ve not been in a gym for months. I’ve not been training. I’ve been going through depression. I just don’t want to live anymore, if you know what I’m saying. I’ve had total enough of it. They’ve forced me to the breaking edge. Never mind cocaine. I just didn’t care. I don’t want to live anymore. So cocaine is a little minor thing compared to not wanting to live anymore.”

Very similar to what Aaron Pryor said years ago. Very bad situation.
I thought a lot of his antics were to sell tickets. Looks like I was wrong.

I've got nothing against people taking cocaine, but I'm not sure how that helps with depression..

I don't want to preach against use either. Treating unhealthy forms of substance abuse as a crime never made any sense.
Having said that, it's amazing that Fury doesn't seem to connect the dots between his depression and his coke use.

Cocaine helps with weight loss so it is a PED especially since Fury was fat and overweight

Should be a tweet coming out any second berating the press for accusing him of being depressed.

There is such a thing as real depression. I was just reading about Bruce Springsteen's battle with it. Its hard for me to comprehend how these guys get depressed, but the do, and it's real.

Nothing is his fault, including not training for months, promoting fights he had no intention of participating in, and doing coke the whole time. Its the media, the people who didn't like his "honesty," "racists," people complaining about the money they spent to see him not fight, people who don't let him get coked up before a fight, etc etc etc. If he was in rehab, his people would say it. He's at home doing blow and there's a bunch of people who can't help but enable him because he fulfills their desires for a boxer that isn't "PC".

Don't remember Springsteen backing out of concerts.
Also the boss didn't say over 50 stupid things.

One of his biggest struggles (allegedly ) has been dealing with the criticism and negative comments made towards him by the outside world. I can go weeks without picking up a newspaper, and just as long without social media. Perplexes me why top athletes who are vulnerable to negativity don't ditch papers and sites like twitter and concentrate on being top athletes . Imagine the grief Clay would've got for swerving 'nam, or Tyson for rape, had they been reading twitter back then.

Cocaine, depression and etc... Sad news from a great boxer with great future in the sport...
Just as many boxers with non stable mental health, what you would expect from a joker guy like him? Who was always trying to call attention to himself? It was obvious that as soon as he had a great victory, he would become more asshole like he was, that the "fame" would raise into his head.
Psychologically speaking, this kind of behavior is of an empty and lonely person that think that has too many fans and friends until the money and fame is over, like Thomas Hearns, Riddick Bowe and Mike Tyson. Beyond Fury, Broner and Mayweather are good candidates examples of next in the line, lets just wait when nobody cares more and money is over, they will have the fate of those quoted before and/or surely will fall into depression (if they are not already) or maybe worse to commit suicide, sadly as Randolph Turpin or Alexis Argüello did...
In a world centered on getting money (and fame if possible, independent of fame scale), it is forgotten how important is a stable minded and informed person (in sports too) is needed, and especially a violent one like boxing (that has predominance of poor and low educated individuals) to don't fall in hand of profiteers in self-interested to then have a tragic fate.

Totally agree. The man claims to be The Gyspy King but is acting more like a queen.
