George Foreman as Luke Cage " Power Man" ? (1974)

The first Luke Cage comic book came out in 1972.(I remember I bought a copy back then)
Check out this photograph of George Foreman in 1974.
A coincidence ?

If you had said the comic was inspired by foreman (big, tall strong black guy that seemed invincible with a durable chin) that would make more sense.

I doubt it was the other way around since the comic was only 2 yeas old. I doubt a 25+ year old foreman who never mentioned reading comics in his biography suddenly started reading them while surrounding himself with women, booze, and training for professional fights and making millions. Anything is possible though.

Watch the dvd WHEN WE WERE KINGS,
'there is a scene were the" Godfather of Soul" (James Brown)
briefly flashes a comic book he was reading ,
Marvel Comics "WEREWOLF ON THE PROWL"
(which I also had a copy of back in 1974.)
also in the film Muhammad Ali had said they were watching scary movies like
BARON BLOOD (directed by Mario Bava)
(which I saw at the drive-In back around the time too coincidentally).
