Gutknecht was a very solid EBU level fighter at LHW, though I'm not sure what he's got now, and how he'll fare moving down. Not an interesting opponent but not a horrible one either.

Be prepared to continually hear about how he beat GGG in the amateurs...I see Boxing News Online already has an article on it.

Groves by mid-late stoppage.

Gutkneckt starting to look like a high end gatekeeper now.

Sounds like it's just a keep busy fight while they see what happens with chudinov and the WBA title

Stay busy fight for Groves to continue to build momentum off the back of the Brophy and Murray fights until the messy WBA situation is resolved.

Solid fight, 2 class boxers and on Channel 5 for everyone to watch. Surprised it's on a Friday.

Great exposure for Groves on terrestial TV.

There's some Channel 5 boxing on next Friday, as well. (21st).

Maybe Channel 5 are just moving to Friday night shows. It'd mean less competition from Sky Sports shows, I guess.

This fight should be nothing more than an undercard fight at best. How they expect to sell tickets to this I don't know.

Does George Groves still have a big following, or am I missing something?

Somebody must think he does, it's at Wembley Arena.

I know Gutknecht has been fighting at LHW for a while now and mixing with some decent fighters,he had his moments in the Braehmer rematch but I think he'll find Groves too sharp at SMW especially if he's drained at the weight,Gutknecht is usually pretty durable but I think Groves can stop him just after the halfway mark

I don't know how he managed it, but he comes across as even more unlikeable that Degale.

I initially supported him when he boxed Degale and both Froch fights, but now I actually root for the opponent - I might be fickle but he comes across as a right nob.

I don't mind him but his taste in suits is horrendous, actually his dress sense in general is pretty shocking

What has he said/done that makes him come across unlikeable and a nob?

Are you GG in disguise? A relation? Every time someone says something against him you seem to pop up

Why has this guy he is boxing suddenly decided to come down to Super-Middleweight so late on his career?

Seems strange to me and only asking for trouble.

Not as bad as his taste in tattoos. A Gingerbread Man and a lucky cat? Just no.

good point , not many fighters come down as their career goes on.

Not impossible though, Enzo Mac and glen Johnson both did it and remained competitive at a decent level

Not strictly true is it? I take each comment as it comes. GG has been berated on here many times and I don't comment. I just feel that if someone makes a claim of liking or disliking a boxer it's genuinely interesting to know what that boxer does to make someone like or not like them. In some boxers it's obvious but in GG I personally just don't see it. Maybe I have rose tinted glasses on...

You're bound to have your rose tinted glasses on with you being a relation and all :OhYes:

Nah I'm kidding mate. My comment was tongue in cheek because you have dug me up a couple of times over GG comments
