Sorry for anyone who hasn't got up yet....

Er, like Hi everybody.

Long-time lurker, first time poster and all that. Just got up and watched the SKY card from Vegas.

Man, that's what I love about lighter weight fighters. Love that Danny Williams has achieved something, but I'd rather watch Morales-Hernandez any day.

I've always loved to watch Morales yet perversely I've always worried about him -- to me he gets hurt every time out and just sucks it up and bombs back. Which is more or less what happened here.

A great fight, twelve rounds of brawling and boxing; tremendous action all the way and that big hug at the start of the twelfth... fornicating class.

Marquez (Rafael, the Younger) looked like a Mexican Tommy Hearns when he landed that right uppercut; I know the commentators blah'ed on about Zarate &c but I swear I've not seen a sub-126 pound guy hit like that since Wilfredo Gomez. Ruiz was out before he hit the ground.

Oh, and Calderon isn't exactly the second coming of Finito Lopez, is he? I thought Mako was shot after the Barrera fights. I guess not..

Anyway, sorry to take up so much space on my initial posting, but I'm buzzing like the proverbial bastard.

Take care...

Welcome mate. Rarely have I seen a fighter come forward as often as Hernandez WITHOUT throwing punches for a lot of the time. He would often bore in, get inside and just lean on Morales until the Terrible one stepped back and whacked him. In saying that, I gave a couple of rounds even and Hernandez sneaked a few on work rate so I think it was closer than two of the judges who gave it by 10 points!

Those Vegas crowds don't half expect a lot...it was funny when the were booing the Marquez fight...then he stone colds him! The booers should have all apologized!

Hi, nice to speak to you.

Good call on Hernandez' bull impression. Having watched it again, I guess I was a touch swept away by the whole "Is Morales finally gonna fall apart" factor. I thought, about round four of the Zaragoza fight, "He's fucked! he's good, but he's fucked!"

Oh, the lessons we can learn from history, &c.

And you're dead right on the Marquez crowd as well. I think knowledgable boxing fans would have to acknowledged the way he was cracking out the jab in the first two rounds, and it's raining boos like er, rain.

I have little idea know what Watt (oh dear, sorry couldn't resist) was talking about with the "Half-hook, half-uppercut!" -thingie. Looked like it came up from ciudad mexico at ninety degrees. Chilling the way Ruiz bounced off the floor; looked like a decent fighter...

The Las Vegas crowd pisses me off  One guy only has to step back and some idiots start booing, fair enough they pay a lot of money for the fights but it's about the noble art and sometimes a tear up isn't the order of the day. They get restless if someone doesn't end up in intensive care, i'll be there myself for Hopkins-DLH and if anyone boos near me then they are having it :TU: :D
