So I take it you're talking about punching power in the literal sense and not the P4P sense.

Yes, literal sense...I could put only Gassiev from CW, he is a beast, but I decided to list only HWs.

I think Wilder hits harder than Ortiz and Hay, just is not as accurate.

Big Baby Miller can punch a bit. Maybe @#10. I agree, good list of current HW power.

Don't think Haye is the most powerful but I think he does more damage because you don't see them coming

What would be your response to a casual that is absolutely certain Josh punches harder than Vlad?

That's not a bad list. Wlad is a clear #1 to me and 2-5 I'd have in a different order but the same names. Not sure about Helenius and wouldn't have Ustinov anywhere near this kind of list. What about Parker? I'd have found a spot for him near 8-10 personally.

I think that (healthy) Helenius absolutely deserves his place on this list. Ustinov is so huge, and I feel that he has got very heavy fists, but it could be debatable. Parker is a decent contender, but, honestly, I can not see him as top 10, even top 20 considering punching power. Briggs and Browne ought to be mentioned, someone remind of Miller (I could agree)....

Great list except of Ustinov. Amir Mansuor hits much harder than Ustinov and, I think, I'd put him above Helenius and Povetkin too. Mansour should be definitely in this list.

Most do, Ustinov can barely crack an egg. Parker belongs somewhere on the list.

I don't think so. IMO, Wlad left hook is harder and more dangerous than anything AJ throws.

It is very difficult to say, but, Wlad is much more proven, and deciding factor (for me) was KO against Pulev.

Wlad is a murderous puncher, just reluctant beyond belief.

Gassiev disagrees:

Not surprising, wilder clearly hits very hard. Wlad does too, he's probably too hesitant to unleash it in sparring as well.

For me Haye is the biggest puncher on this list. That right hand is brutal - he just couldn't get close enough to land on wlad. AJ in not sure about. that last fellow was totally inept but took lots of flush shots.

Ustinov, helenius, stiverne are not particularly hard punchers.
haye's weapon is his speed
as for price...he used to look like a hard puncher before his awful defeats but needs another live opp in order for us to tell if he still has it
klitchko rarely showed one punch ko ability
AJ seems like a hard puncher
deontay certainly did against tomato cans but tends to struggle now

I would like to see your top 10 punching power list. I would really like it....

1) Helenius and Stiverne showed good power in some of their fights. Stiverne definitely hits harder than Vitali if you compare their fights against Arreola. As for Ustinov not being the big puncher, I agree.
2) Haye's speed might be his biggest asset, but his power is very good too. Just compare impact of his punches and punches of Vitali, Fury and Helenius on their common opponent Derek Chisora.
3) I don't think KO losses could make Price weaker puncher than he was before. His chin is probably even worse now than it was and his confidence is probably gone forever, but how can losses take something from your power?
4) LOL, you obviously confused Wladimir with Vitali. Wladimir had a lot of one-punch brutal KO's throughout his career - Chambers, Pulev, Brock, Jackson etc. Chris Byrd said Waldimir hits harder than Tua and 3 times harder than Vitali.
5) No argument here.
6) Deontay's power is very good, as was shown in his fight against Szpilka. He is just telegraphing his punches so clearly that better opponents either duck, block or soften them.
