Linares won a fair decision in a competitive battle with Crolla only recently.

Shame no one praises fair or good scoring when it happens.

Is it a case of foreign fighters coming to the UK in general or foreign fighters appearing on a Matchroom card that is the issue here?

This type of stuff happens in many countries.

Japan may be the fairest to visitors. A lot of foreigners have fought and won there, but how many shockers have there been? Some complained about Moreno-Yamanaka I, but I thought it was a justifiable result.

I think that people are tired of so many fights having a card utterly out of wack. I have been guilty of being the score out of wack. I still think that Ramming Speed won his first fight with Pac. I would have no problem if Pac would have been given the decision but more than 116-112 either way is too wide, imo.

It seems to irritate people when someone who won a competitive fight gets a 118-110 card. I tend to be happy if it went the right direction, no matter how far off what my score is.

On that same note, look at the officials used in recent Japanese world title fights (Kano vs Takayama aside)

The judges scores that have recently been questioned have all been foreign officials. ..I havent checked but the sole British judge has generally been closest to the general consensus. ..

With the 10 must system it depends what kind of fight you are talking about
If theres 12 really close rounds, it could go 120-108 either way depending on what the judge likes or 114-114.
Where as when you have clear rounds (pacquiao absolutely had to win 5 of those rounds, the other 7 were subjective IMO) then that's when you're left scratching your head.
I never saw last nights fight but from what I can gather the lad one 5 clear rounds at the start and end of the fight.
In which case 115-113 to Ricky is justifiable 118-112 isn't.

This thread would usually get my back up but I'm finding it hard to argue the toss after last night! I'm a big Burns fan and I actually thought he edged it last night but the scores were a bad joke!

When he fought Beltran I was genuinely angry for the guy! That must rank with one of the worst decisions I've seen!

Not that it was in any way a factor but seriously need to be getting neutral refs in world title fights

Concider yourself lucky your not Philipino fighting in Australia.
