I'm saddened to hear this. He strived mightily and accomplished much. No one can argue with that.

Let's toll the 10 count for another of boxing's fallen warriors.
One who helped make the late 70s and 80s a very exciting time in boxing.
Pryor-Leonard would have been a match for the ages.
RIP Hawk.

Damn! First Muhammad Ali. Then, Bobby Chacon. And now the The Cincinnati Hawk, the great Aaron Pryor.
Probably the greatest Jr welterweight boxer ever. At least, he was the most exciting fighter of the 140lb division.
R.I.P. Champion! Thanks for the memories!

- Oh, ye of little faith, does anyone really think this man’s unquenchable spirit could ever be squelched so easily?
Hawk Time comin’ To Valhalla as Hawk soars through the Gates of Valhalla like a firestorm, takin’ names for a good ol’ fashioned ass kickin’ like them ol’ timers ain’t ever seen before.
Tex Rickard promised him a date with Sugar Ray Leonard by hook or crook, even if he has to drag him up there in chains. Payback for duckin’ The Hawk. Already sports the better record, 39-1, 35 KO sandwiching his 11-0, 9 KO title record. My $$$ on Hawk Time time and time again!

I have seen most of his fights in youtube.com and he was one of the most exciting fighters to watch. Always throwing punches non stop. He was a complete boxer. He could box, slug it out, take a punch, stamina, great punching ability, threw punches from different angles, and had great will and determination. One of the top 100 greatest fighters of the 20th century.
