Will it be enough to topple GGG's position as the best fighter in the world?

For some people, yes. others will say Ward is past his best

Hard to argue against the winner being p4p number 1.

I like ggg but would definitely say this would put kovalev at number 1

Kovalev won't paste Ward first off. kovalev will be lucky to win 4 rounds in a one sided anti climatic fight. Ward has so many ways he can win this fight, Kovalev will more than likely have to score multiple knock downs or get a knock out to win and that's pretty damn unlikely. With that being said, who ever wins deserves the #1 spot an d a don't feel GGG is the #1 P4P to begin with.

I know I'm going to cop flack for it but I rhink Golovkin is a better all round fighter than Kov and would beat him today if they weighed in at their respective weights.

Nah that's a fair comment. Golovkin even dropped him in sparring, body shot. Confirmed by kovs trainer Jackson.

C'mon fella, somebody is gonna put an eye out with all these facts and truth your contributing. Besides being correct, you've endangered the core Kovalev fan base as they are highly unprepared for so much honesty in one sentence. The horror of how wrong the OP is will be stretched across his face (that hollow lump 3 feet above his ass) when the time comes. Hopefully there is a panic room nearby.

Let's be honest, Ward is going to get knocked out.

Golovkin is better than Kovalev p4p wise, but Kovalev still smashes Ward.

I would definitely put the winner of this as p4p number one, I'm not sure Kovalev will "paste" Ward though.
Kovalev may well win by stoppage but he will have to work very very hard for it and will likely have to come from behind to do it, id be very suprised if this turns out to be a one sided beat down.

No matter how much of Ward is left. If Kovalev stops him, he's easily ahead of GGG.

It actually matters. If Ward quits in his corner early or gets KO'ed early, the "easily ahead" wouldn't apply.

If Kovalev knocks Ward out he will be worshiped as a modern god of boxing.

Although otherwise a mediocre feather-fisted boxer, Ward is very sneaky with his head butts and other dirty tactics. I can imagine Kovalev being badly cut by a deliberate head butt which the ref says is accidental and Ward winning a TD.
The outcome may well depend on whether there is an honest referee or not.

When Kovalev doesn't paste Ward...you will say he cheated like the anti-American, inferiority complexed euro jagoff you are.

When he does, what will you say? How much money, are you putting on Ward?

I think you are an idiot if you think this fight is an easy fight for either guy. Everything else equal, I would pick the better boxer and guy that has superior defense all day long. Ward wins. Not a 50-50 fight. About 60-40.

"Everything else equal" ??? How about Kovalev being 3 levels above Ward in punching power. Let's see if Ward can move his arms well after 8-9 rounds if his chin and liver survive for that long.

B Hop went 12 rounds with Kov. Caparello dropped Kov.
Ward is gonna be just fine. UD in an anti climatic Ward paced fight.

Caparello didn't drop Kovalev. Sergey lost balance/tripped. Not very good balance is one of his drawbacks compared to Golovkin.
BHop went into a shell and had no chances to win. Ward could try to do the same thing, but what's the point? Besides, he doesn't have Bernard's chin.

Some of you guys are absolutely clueless. Predicting someone to have an easy fight with Andre Ward is about as dumb as it gets. Do better, it's embarrassing.

Could be a Bernard Hopkins type of fight.

So with that logic, Kovalev's bad balance is going to beat Andre Ward? That's one of the God Damn dumbest things uttered yet even for a nuthugger. Fantasy time will be over soon thankfully.

This fight's going to be horrible. Boxing will get the attention of the world once again for a moment and I think that this fight's going to be worse than Floyd/Manny. Ward is too disciplined to get into a fire fight with Kovalev and he'll be in defense first mode the whole fight aside for the last 10 seconds of every round. This fight is definitely going to the cards and it will be ridiculously difficult to outscore Ward here in America.
Everything really depends upon how tentative and confident Kovalev is in there. He already seems enamored by Ward and he's showing way too much respect. The ONLY way Kovalev wins this one is if he turns into the evil maniac in there looking for blood. If he tries to outbox Ward then we have a loser. If he go balls out like we've seen him then Ward will have a tough night ahead of him.
