Good referee, hope life treats him well in retirement.

I always liked Vann he's a character and probably one of our better refs over the years. The BBBoC age limit should be scrapped. They could've gotten a few more good years out of Mickey.

Agreed....refreeing is primarily an experience business, the more you've seen the better you should become.
As long as he's fit, can keep up with any new rules; why put this arbitary cut-off in place?

I thought he retired about six years ago.

So did I! I know he retired from world-title fights years ago, and just figured he'd retired for good not long after.

Stopped from Reffing in UK due to his age I believe, so did a bit on continent.

Quite how BBBOC get away with stopping a ref due to age is beyond me (age discrimination) . How was Vann good enough this weekend but too old the weekend after?

Having a age limit is stupid. If fit enough and good enough they should be allowed to continue.

Any employer can enforce retirement at retirememt age, as thats the official retirememt age. Happened to my mum years ago.
