Ryan Walsh vs Dennis Ceylan

On Saturday for the vacant European featherweight title over in Denmark, Ceylan the home fighter unbeaten and promoted by Sauerland,I've never seen him before he's coming off a KO win over Walter Estrada who fought Scott Harrison for the world title about 12 years ago and he also has a decision win over Sergio Prado who fought Galahad for the European title so its hard to tell if he's much cop
Walsh is a class act though and Ceylan will have to be pretty good to beat him even at home ,he's in great form since beating Mouniemne for the British, got stoppages over Traynor and Tennyson who are tough opponents, he switch hits so easily and is a very fluid boxer,I think he'll stop Ceylan near the end,its hard to tell how good Ceylan is though having not seen him but I'll stick my neck out and say Walsh late KO

I'll agree with HoS. I'm the same, haven't seen Ceylan but Walsh is on a good run of form and will take some beating. I can see Walsh picking up the early rounds with his style and frustrating the home fighter. The mood will be high in the Walsh camp after Liam's performance at the weekend.

Ceylan is tall and can be sharp when he throws. Typically he throws combinations which is good and bad in that he will probably land something but he can also be countered. He seems to have decent power and has a very decent amateur pedigree, having boxed in the WSB and the olympics (easily outboxed by JJ Nevin). He basically says hes coming to win this fight on the move and he's going to be outboxing Walsh from the outside. He's got size and reach advantages and is a good mover. Walsh has excellent sparring in his brother though and I think we might see him get to Ceylan more as the fight goes on. I get the feeling he will win by KO or lose on points. Gun to my head, I'll take Walsh by KO but this is a big night for Danish boxing and Ceylan has been getting a lot of hype so he will be given every chance by the officials, if you know what I mean.

Disgraceful that boxing news didn't even bother to print a preview for this.

I also favour Walsh but by points.
I think the fight will be wide so the judges shouldn't get chance for a robbery.
Really fancy Joe Murray to win on the undercard aswell at a big price.

Big opportunity for Ryan and will get extra kudos if he can pull it off in Denmark which hasn't been the happiest of hunting ground for Brits.
Looks winnable for Walsh who is on a roll and only the one loss to Lee Selby which reflects well.
Maybe a points victory for Ryan.

Watched the weigh in, Walsh looks rock solid.
Also sounded like he has taken a decent following with him.

Superb win for Joe Murray ...I've got great respect and admiration for boxers who fight away abroad against an unbeaten fighters. Not many would gave travelled to take that fight .
Ideal result by not leaving it to the judges to decide ! Well done Joe and your team .

Its been ok, slowed down a bit I have Walsh losing by 1 after 9. I would say Walsh needs a ko to win over there he's not doing enough

Honestly think Ceylan is winning he's improved a lot in the fight, far too many rounds Walsh has been passive.

Ffs totally forgot this was on BN, only turned it on in round 11. Sounds like Ceylan will get the decision?

Not got pictures here. Was the SD win a fair call or home decision?

I didn't think Walsh deserved to win to be honest. Ceylan was picking him off all night. The 117-112 to Walsh was a strange card.

Fair call. I did not think Walsh did enough in the rounds to win the fight on the cards, Ceylan had the better punches on the eye for crowd and the judges. Walsh loading up far too much should've boxed him but even if he tried that think Ceylan would have countered with his reach advantage.

I wasn't scoring it as I watched it – and had no sound on – but my intuitive impression was that Walsh had won it quite clearly.
