He looked and talked a million bucks. He looked like michael jackson circa 1984.....He had a hell of a lot of hype by the tough east coast boxing writers of the 1980s.....those curmudgeons didnt respect anyone eaay....what was the deal?....his flashy look and outfits i understand....the kid had heart and decent speed and a left hook but other than that....?....was he mismanaged? Did he thus burn out waaaay before his time? For sure people hoped with his flash ,good looks and articulate way of speaking he could be the michael jackson of boxing or the boxing jackson.

His later post fight career would show this man was super talented out of the ring.He was a charismatic writer with a flair for words.he has a thriving fitness system

Im talking before the eye injury scabs.

He had all that hype and a world of potential than it just ended so quickly in that mw shake up post srl-hagler....he couldnt get past tate and barkley.....he was all of 22-23 years of age....i personally feel he was badly rushed going back to his rushed amateur career.......on the flip side ....of the 6 fighters who got title shots for 3 vacant titles post srl-hagler...he lost to 3 of them........and u could see roldan mauling him up in a brawl and kalambay outboxing him...but theres an argument he was already burned out before the tate fight....just how good could he have been at his best?
