He lost to Christian Hammer. Jesus christ. I guess it does show how much PED's can help when you can beat Price and Duhaupas (still not exactly amazing I know) on PED's but can't beat Hammer. Hammer is utter shite.

Did you watch it, Lefty? I just checked the results and it is a SD, so I'm just wondering if neither of them looked particularly good or if it was a toe to toe war or something?
Glad he lost, though.

Glad he lost.. It says Hammer won the last 6 rounds.

I've seen Teper vs Duhaupas, it was a very very ugly fight with Teper 90% klinching without getting punished, he "won" those rounds while clearly being worde as Duhaupas was at the time. And Duhaupas was a lot worder boxer at the time as he is today. Teper never really deserved the rank he had.

No. I think there's footage of it on youtube but it was a round per video. I couldnt be arsed with it.

Surprisingly fun fight actually.
A lot of back and forth puches.

Possibly. I think Price would beat Hammer though based on what I've seen of them both.

like somebody else said it would be a good match up .
Ploting Price's career path at this point must be a real tough call .

Price is absolute trash. A decent boxer, but he can't even withstand a few weak punches. He's never going to make it to round 4 against any top 30 opponents. Teper is extremely crude skill-wise and his power is very overrated. Christian Hammer has been consistently overlooked and has only 1 in-prime defeat against the best heavyweight in the world.

What about when he got knocked out cold by Wach?

Going into that fight, Hammer's peak boxrec rating was 17. But since then, his rating has peaked at 222. It should be trivial to see that if you are 222 at your peak, and you are 17 when you fight Wach, then you haven't hit your prime yet. 17 and 222 aren't close numbers.

Teper has had fights like this before being caught using. If he can't get opponents out early he often gasses badly in the later rounds, so this is nothing new. Keep in mind that he barely squeaked past a guy with fights and struggled with a journeyman before the positive test.
He KTFO Price before stamina could be an issue, and with Price's glass chin I imagine that he still has the power to do it again.

You don't think Hammer's gotten better? He struggled with an injury early in his career and I think his managment rushed him a bit.
He looks like a bit of a slob, but he was world junior champ as an amateur and I think is now a respectable EBU-level pro. Price has never proven that he should be favored to blow out someone like that.

I wasn't impressed with his performance against Fury at all. I know Fury is the number 1 heavyweight right now in terms of beating the man so to speak but I'd pick atleast 20 heavys I reckon that would beat Hammer.
I actually think Hughie fury would beat him now.

That's fine if you feel that way, but like... I'd say Hammer might be inside the top 20, maybe not. Teper is probably outside of the top 20. Price is super clearly nowhere near the top 20. I don't think this discussion is really about whether Teper or Hammer are in the top 20. I think it's about which ones are in or out of the top 30.
On an unrelated note, I've previously criticized Teper for being crude and with overrated power. The reaction at the time was "NO, BUT HE KNOCKED OUT DAVID PRICE, THOUGH. YOU HAVE YOU BE REALLY SKILLED AND HAVE A LOT OF POWER TO DO THAT." Yeah, no. If you watch that fight, he's just fighting like a crude brawler and knocks him out in the early rounds with a punch that was barely medium power. Just like the Thompson - Price fights, where Thompson looked like he barely touched Price. It's just so ridiculously easy to turn Price's lights out.

I honestly think that Price would beat Hammer though.

To me that's how most EBU level guys---and Price has never beaten anyone at that level---would look against Fury. Price doesn't possess the unorthodox skill that Fury does, doesn't take a shot or keep range as well, and isn't nearly as good when someone is actually punching back.
I remember that even after the back to back losses to Thompson people were generally predicting that Price would wipe out Teper, and I was dumbfounded as to why. He's suffered embarassing losses all three times he's strayed above domestic level, and I don't believe that he should be strongly favoured to destroy anyone who has recently proven they can operate with success on the Euro scene, with Hammer being one of those guys. Also don't forget that Price even got dropped against Pala and lost rounds in being extended by Zavorotnyi.

True but Hammer is short for a current heavyweight, he's not a particularly hard puncher and he's not defensively cute either. Price has a lot of flaws but power isn't one of them. If Wach could knock Hammer out cold and Fury can stop him- I think there's a good chance Price would.
Hammer isn't that much different stylistically to Sexton and has similar size and Price iced him. He's only really struggled with guys that were 6"4 upwards really upto now.

Teper and Hammer are pretty much the same height; just look at them in the ring and at the weigh-in. To me it seems like Teper's 6'5" listing is at least a few inches off the mark, and he was clearly giving up far more than three inches to Price.

I scored the Teper vs Duhaupas fight for Duhaupas at the time. Ugly fight with lot of hugging. In my eyes Duha won by being more active.
I have to say that I am bit surprised that Hammer won against Teper. Hammer is not that good anyway.
