Andre Ward at Cruise Weight ?

He had been talking about his desire to become a HW champion. It would be too much, I am sure (he would be literally destroyed by Joshua & co), but it could be possible at CW. What do you think about his chances to become champion (even undisputed one) at CW ? I think that he wouldn't be able to defeat Usyk, the rest (Lebedev, Huck, Briedis, healthy Drozd, Glovwacky) is very questionable, in my honest opinion.

Andre Ward is capable of replicating Roy Jones Jr’s feat of engaging in a one-off contest for a version of the heavyweight crown worn by a champion of Charles Martin’s ilk.
I refuse to believe that Ward possesses any genuine ambitions to be a long-term holder of the heavyweight title.
In terms of the cruiserweight division, Ward could potentially do quite well (depending on his age when he makes the jump). He may struggle against the likes of Grigory Drozd and Oleksandr Usyk, but he should be able to beat the rest of the division.

It's difficult to say because he's barely had a career at 175, let alone 200.

Needs to win a title at light-heavy first really

After he feels Kovalev's power, Ward will lose any desire to move further up and will possibly move back down to 168.

There's been a lot of lackluster Antonio Tarver and Tony Bellew type light heavyweights moving-up to cruiserweight and seizing a title. I'm sure Andre Ward would easily be a better cruiserweight than Tarver or Bellew on p4p talent alone. Only question would be how effectively he could muscle-up to being a 6' 0" 200-pound colossus, because not everyone has the appetite to gain weight with equal ease.

I think even at 175 Ward lost some of his speed and mobility. At cruiserweight, he could be come an ordinary good fighter versus a top p4p he was 5 years ago.

He's got more than enough to worry about right in front of him than to question what he's going to do after the Kovalev fight.
