BJ Flores conditioning

Personally I was disappointed, his physical stature did not seem to be as good as the times I have seen him fight before, he looked drained/dry at the weigh in and then he looked 'soft' on the night. His body, on fight night, looked to have been holding at least 3/4 of a stone of water compared to the weigh in.

this ? mis timing/mal calculation/arrogance/unprofessional gesture would have significantly altered his punch resistance last night. Surely for the biggest night of his life he should have been totally committed to training camp.

what I will say is that IJL missed that bad low blow before the first KD but flores should know that he has to protect himself.

5 Months ago Flores try out to be a heavyweight...over 220 lbs
Big weight fluctuation in boxing is always a high risk.

It depends how long you have to do it? Cannot lose more than 2lb per week of actual bodyfat. Any more would be water and muscle

Most MMA fighters do that on the week of the fight.

Flores could've been in the best shape of his life and he still would've lost because he's just not good enough to get it done at this level. Even if he once was he's d*cked around with his career too much and spent too many years fighting guys that didn't advance him at all. I doubt he gets another title opportunity he's probably just gonna be a commentator from here on out.

He's not very good at that either.

Very true. People can be a quick look to blame the lack of abs for someone's shit performance. Bellew is hardly body beautiful either.

Flores was disappointing in his breakout performance against Darnell Wilson. Very timid and hesitant for such a rough and tough division.

Is he part time fighter, part time commentator now?

As soon as he made the decision to save every penny possible and buy off the shelf trunks I think he became a full time commentator.
