How has Frankie trained for this? Anyone know?
He has recently opened a gym in Acocks Green so clearly has one eye on a career after boxing.
His fitness and mindset will decide how this one pans out IMO

FWIW I've backed Gavin already.. but I'll let this guy try to dissuade you.. Matt Hamilton anyone heard of him??
Why Eggington is BET OF THE YEAR against Frankie Gavin
Money in the bank so far as I’m concerned & my only fear is Frankie comes up with another improbable reason not to pitch up & let natural selection take its course.

It's a close one but Eggington is very basic, Gavin should outbox and out point him, I'll be chucking Gavin on points in an acca.

I'm really torn on this fight. I can see gavin out boxing Sam early on but if his learned from the Skeete fight I think Sam will take over and force a late stoppage.

If you watch the public work out session you will notice the coach holding the pads for Eggington is trying too mimic Gavins combinations, style and movement... Gavins session apears pretty standard.

My first feeling was also that Gavin boxes Eggingtons head off. But reading that article I admit the guy makes a compelling case. I would take notice of that. Barry Hearns pet shall win.

I've point £ on Eggington. Can't see Gavin improving if anything he's getting gradually worse.
I see improvement in Eggington also he will be a lot bigger and could use his size to his advantage.
I also question how motivated Gavin actually is anymore.

I can't see anything other than a straight forward Gavin win. No disrespect to Eggington because I like him and have enjoyed watching him but if Gavin is even half serious about this fight he should have far too much for Sam. I'll be pleased if I'm wrong though!

Eggington throws some very good body shots. From range too. I think he stops Frankie. All he has to do is make it a rough night, land some shots, and I think Gavin will wilt

Skeete has provided the blueprint to beat Eggington. Gavin has a similar style as Skeete but does he have the conditioning ? If he's in decent condition then I think Gavin wins on points.

I don't think Gavin has the length that Skeete possesses though or maybe even the mental toughness. Let's not forget either that when Bundu put the pressure on Gavin he couldn't cope with it! Bundu was like 39 or something at the time aswell and not exactly a huge puncher either.

Bundu is a fair bit better than Eggington to be fair.

This is an interesting post! But what to do. After all the opinions it still seems 50/50

He is but he's not as big as Eggington or as fresh as Eggington and maybe doesn't even hit as hard.

Wouldn't trust Gavin with a big bet at this point. He's been out of the ring for a long time and has had problems outside the ring as well. Could be rusty, could be uninterested and he could have peaked a couple of years back.

I know where you're coming from but bundu is a much more compact build than Eggington, Eggington seems a little bit 'army' to me at times, and i wonder if he might struggle to get his shots off, thats if Gavin is on-form and boxing with some rhythm. But then, one, Manny S used.to say pressure.from a taller fighter is really difficult to deal with, and eggington you would say is around Woodhouses level and Curtis certainly didn't have too many problems finding a target.

I think the way Eggington throws his punches will really work to his advantage. He kind of throws long hooks, especially to the body. I can see him doing Gavin with a consistent body assault.

How will the crowd be split? Will Birmingham provide us with a traditional riot like it usually does every time they get a headline show?

Being specific, it is black country vs brummie as Eggington is a Stourbridge man I believe?
So, yeah, black country - brummie, could be tasty, but I don't know if Eggington has any football affiliations- if he's Albion or wolves it would definitely add to the chances

Save yr money dont take the bet lads lol.
Sam is going to turn a lot of heads saturday a lot is being put into skeete fight but sam has learnt from it and tbh went in a little bit cocky.
Quite a lot of boxing people are betting heavily on Sam.
Tickets wise Sam is actualy from smethwick moved to stourbridge a few years ago so is bringing a lot of birmingham fans I think hes sold almost double what frankie has, plus hes got 6 gym mates on and our guys always tell there fans to support there gym mates on so Sam will probably have more noise in the room.
Its a good fight and a very tough fight but at just turned 23 we beleive sam is improving enough with each fight to surprise the odds once more.
