Parker/haye will be interesting. Too bad they didn't go straight to it. Ruiz is an opponent downgrade for Joe.

Parker vs Haye ain't happening. Haye will go for one of the other three belts.

Yeah I wish they would have sanctioned that fight instead.

Hopefully David Haye actually goes through with facing Joseph Parker. He probably dislocates his thumb clipping his fingernails though and pulls out of the fight.

I doubt he'll even take the fight.

I agree. Parker seems a bit too high risk for Haye in regards to the value of the fight.

I think haye would rather fight Joshua. We're all assuming Ruiz will show up, he's pulled out of many fights.

Haye-Joshua would be a huge fight monetary wise. Parker would just be high risk and not a ton of reward br getting the belt. I don't think Haye cares too much for the belts these days anyway. It's more the money that motivates him. I guess that's the same with a lot of fighters though.

Am I the only one at all excited about this (if it comes off)? Two hungry young fighters, both aiming to be the first of their people to win (a version of) the heavyweight title*, one more of a powerhouse, the other with faster and more cultured hands, both aggressive and neither with great defence. Parker is the obvious favourite but I can't see how it won't be a fun scrap anyway.

* You might say Fitzsimmons counts as a New Zealander, but he'd be the first of Samoan descent (I think) at least.

I'm just ready for that fat tub of goo to get wiped out so his few supporters on here realize he sucks.

Haye isn't much more reliable than Ruiz, he's content selling piles of shit like his last two fights on top of being a pull out risk. Ain't toe stopping us now... a Haye-Parker fight does sound good though.

To be honest, assuming Haye’s dodgy shoulder holds up, I’d favour the Brit to be capable of beating the likes of Parker and Ruiz Jr.

It's good. If vacant belts is the only way to get top guys (or fringe top guys) to fight each other then I'm all for it.

From Takam, yes, from Dimitrenko and Haumono, no.

Fair enough, dimitrenko is ass but I'd have to see Ruiz beat him.

What has Haye done to earn the spot to challenge the winner? Money talks?

Parker Ruiz should be a good one. It will end in KO. One way or the other. I expect Parker to win but I think that Ruiz should not be underestimated. He has real punchers chance in this one.

You’re right, money does talk, but there’s more to it than that.

He’s a former world champion at multiple weights, possesses an impressive resume, attracts a huge gate attendances and TV audiences, is extremely media friendly and is also a genuinely talented fighter, despite his inactivity.

Many people, such as several boxing pundits, believe Haye is stylistically capable of dethroning Anthony Joshua.

Even though Haye’s last two opponents were dire, his popularity somehow grew during that period.

Well to be honest, who was the last pro-boxer to fight on free to air TV?
