Is there a combination of heavyweights that haven't been linked over the last few weeks? Seems like nearly every thread recently has been about a potential heavyweight fight featuring 'top contenders'.

I really think Chisora wins this fight.

I'd prefer to see Whyte-Ortiz as an Ortiz fan. Would raise his profile considerably with the casuals over here.

I think I've never been so bored of a sport as I have of boxing this week. What a shame that all these fat bastards keep us hanging on. Even frankie Gavin thinks he's in on it these days. He's just weighed in for a heavyweight fight!

I was at a Ricky Hatton function last night and when asked who would win between Fury and AJ, Ricky said Fury. His reasoning was he met Whyte up in in Scotland for the first time and he wasn't that big and after watching him fight, wasn't that good. He said it left him with question marks over AJ's performance against him...

A good fight this as they are evenly matched. Whyte should edge it though as he's fitter, keener and has a longer reach.

Kinda with Hatton on that one. There are loads of photos showing Whyte is clearly inches shorter than Eddie Hearn (who looks like he's probably about 6'4") and Malik Scott, who he trains with, who is also 6'4". He's nowhere as tall as he's listed at and he has NEVER looked good in a fight. He should never have had any success against AJ and after Chisora victim Edmund Gerber looked like Mike Tyson against Brian Minto I almost (thankfully not) put a bet on Charles Martin to beat AJ as I started to think that Whyte was probably awful and therefore AJ is nowhere near as good as people think he is.

I don't think team AJ are stupid though and regardless of the criticism they will move him at the level appropriate to his development until the time is right. Fury's not going to be fighting any time soon, Wlad is looking at the soft option in Browne and is also looking very old. Parker is fighting Ruiz jnr. Ortiz is very much "on the chain" until Joshua is ready now he's at Matchroom and Haye won't get a fight until 2017 and might lose to the first half decent fighter he goes up against. Wilder is injured and irrelevant. Povetkin is completely off the radar. Who else is there? Pulev? He's not interested. Hughie? He's rubbish. Sorry, he is. If he was that good they would have stuck him in against Whyte or took the short end for AJ's belt but they didn't. He's not very good. Who else? Stiverne? Big Baby Miller? Gerald Washington? Shannon Briggs? David Price?

I'm going to bung a couple of quid on Chisora against Whyte. I like Dillian as a bloke but Chisora really is a loose cannon and a better boxer.

The reason nobody cares about this Chisora-Whyte is the level of Dillian's opposition since it first started to gather momentum as a "fan fight" has been woeful and his performances underwhelming. They should have just made it after Chisora lost to Pulev but no, they fucked around trying to 'build' it and it has lost all lustre. This could have headlined a show four months ago or something, but now will only do as a chief support fight, and even then a somewhat underwhelming one. They've blown it with this one.

I'll still watch it though.

Same here Del Boy is far to Wiley for Whyte. I like whyte but a motivate del jumps all over him.

Very similar boxers in many ways.
Whyte to me consistently represents Chisora at 90% of his best.
Chisora is dramatically up and down in form. At 100% he wins, but it's always a mystery what kind of performance he puts in and at some point the miles start to show.

Chisora put in a decent effort against Pulev and if he has the same mentality against Whyte then he'll have a chance. But if I was a betting man, I'd take Whyte to win it on points.

Indeed, their fighting styles are very different.

Both have been involved in the odd snoozefest but their styles should mesh nicely and make for a decent bout.

Chisora will win it.

He did alright against Pulev whereas the only thing Whyte has done is wobble a overhyped Joshua.

It's a bit of a cliché on these boards but at the risk of being repetitive, it really depends on which DelBoy shows up! He's a hard task for most when he's on song but that's very seldom the case!

I thought Pulev beat Chisora without breaking sweat tbh. I see Whyte as a slightly better version of Chisora. Whyte wins this if it happens!

He put up a far better challenge than Whyte did against Joshua, won more rounds, and landed the best punches of the night.

Similar stature and build. Both 'gentle pressure' fighters with a slowish plod forward style. Both carry good but not explosive power that combined with similar levels of hand speed results in clubbing opponents into submission rather than shutting them down.

I'm not suggesting they are twins, but they are similar in many ways, including the heights they can reach I believe.

I think Chisora takes this one.
