Hearn: I 100% Want Anthony Joshua vs. David Haye in 2017

David Haye is the latest name to be linked with an Anthony Joshua super-fight after negotiations with Wladimir Klitschko reportedly broke down.

“Haye is in line for some kind of WBA strap and he wants to fight for that,” Hearn said.

“He’s also, I believe, done a deal with allegedly, so that’s why that fight ain’t gonna happen for December 10.

“I 100% want that fight to happen next year but Haye is waiting, like we all are, so who knows?”

I hope he does have that confidence in him, but Wlad and Haye are very different prospects.

Though I think Joshua is good enough to beat both now.

I think Hearn pulled pulled all the stops to make AJ v Wlad too. The mistake Hearn appears to have made though, is he should probaly have got the WBA involved earlier. It appears his strategy was to get so much momentum going for the fight that the WBA would just roll over and sanction it. So far it doesn't appear to have worked.

In the scramble for all the belts vacated by Fury, everyone wants to get the easier fight for the vacant title.

You have your New Zealander doing it, you have Wladimir doing it.

Appears Hearn wanted to make the massive fight for Joshua with Wlad. Haye will suffice for a huge domestic battle.

But, after this talk will Haye go out, do some thing, raise his profile? Or will he sit on his apparent opportunity, do nothing to jeopardise it?

Bad thing is that Hearn is willing to risk only for huge money. I'm not saying Pulev is the next coming of Lennox Lewis or Riddick Bowe, but he is solid, good fighter. Joshua needs fight like that before fighting Wlad and Tyson Fury (if he comes back as good as he was), because step up from Whyte and Breazaele to Klistchko or Fury might be too big for him. But I'm 100% confident, that if Hearn can't make Joshua - Klitschko for December 10, AJ will face David Price or Eric Molina insted of solid opponent like Pulev. Even Hughie Fury would be much better opponent than Price in my opinion.

He was bridging Chisora and Steve Cunningham level before going for the top.

I never believed wlad aj would be made at 8 weeks notice these fights take years to make and build.

Fury might have finally beaten Wlad when he got there but he swerved all sorts of people, Pulev, Price, Ustinov, before he did and never really fought anybody he wasn't favorite to win against. I thought haye had openly said he wants the fight on December 10th. Why wouldn't he? It's huge money, he's already training for that date, he's got a good chance of winning, it's a world title shot he hasn't earned.

Why isn't the fight happening then? The Klits are notoriously tough negotiators. We can only go on what we see and as far as I can see its Wlad who is the stumbling block here. Yeah he's faced all the top guys in the past but on his own terms and at his age and current form it looks to me as if he's intentionally blocking the fight.

AJ is unproven and fighting Klitschko is a massive gamble but he's dangerous and Wlad knows that. He's been singing his praises for long enough.
